Fully restored LX Torana A9X in the stunning Flamenco Red / Slate Black trim combo. A9X build number 369 of the 405 produced is one of the much desired 2nd production run featuring the wider flares and 3:08 diff. Originally sold through Boyded Holden in Wollongong, NSW the car was stored prior to the current ownership in Bathurst, NSW since 1993. The car comes with both a Holden Historical Services verification letter and a GMH authenticity letter plus new old stock log books, owners manual, radio manual and shows a genuine 70,454 kilometres from new. The current owner stumbled on this special A9X in 2017 after initially contacting the seller about another car. The A9X had been stored in a dry shed for 27 years and was covered by a tarp and was found to be a totally rust and damage free body. The current owner has meticulously and professionally rotisserie restored the car from a bare shell. Nothing has been left untouched and the car now presents as brand new. The car comes with hundreds of photos of the complete restoration process plus receipts for all work carried out. The engine has been fully rebuilt by Robinson Tools in Bathurst, decked and bored 30 thou, using L34 rods, forged pistons, solid cam, stainless valves with genuine A9X flywheel, manifold and sump. The original master cylinder has been overhauled, a new heavy duty clutch fitted and all fluids replaced. New headers and exhaust were also fitted with the original exhaust manifolds. The mechanical rebuild comes with receipts and the car has only been running for just over 1 month with only 30 kilometres since rebuild. This is a very correct and original car with all engine bay stickers and the brake cooling ducts still in place. The interior has been retrimmed in the original Slate Black trim and features working gauges, original dash fascia and steering wheel and a restored steering column. The original A9X rims are fitted to the front of the car and widened GTS style rims are fitted on the rear with massive restored 10" GTS style rims in the boot ready for massive rubber if required. The gearbox and differential have been serviced and the brakes and front end have all been fully rebuilt. These parts were all the original factory components that were originally fitted to this car, not changeover parts. All the chrome has also been restored. The car was initially verified for the current owner by A9X club Secretary, Peter Dixon of Bathurst, NSW and as can be seen in the photos has the crayon markings that verify the A9X floorpan still in place. This is one of the lost A9Xs that has now thankfully been discovered. The car is now an A9X Torana Club of Australia, Inc member. This is perhaps the pinnacle of Holden performance, representing the birth of HDT and later HSV. It is a car solidly etched into our motor racing history. A rich history of Brock and Firth, Richards, Harvey, Grice, Morris ... the names synonymous with victory spelt simply in the name - Torana. These cars are legendary on and off the race track and a sure fire investment in solid gold Holden muscle. For your inspection at our Kingsgrove, Sydney showroom.
