History/Specifications:

Bought brand new from Bayside Holden in Frankston in 1975 by John Stoopman to race in 1976. John turned this brand new L34 into a race car from day 1 and it was never road registered until its "official" racing days were over in 1979 as the new A9X was now available and the current owner at this time David Langman had upgraded the car.

This car is unique as it's the only L34 group C car that has NEVER had the ID plates removed from the vehicle. It is 1 of only about 10 left in existence and 1 of only 3 cars left racing today which makes it quite rare and collectable.

Most of the L34's that raced got turned into A9X's and then sports sedans or after being turned into road cars were written off and now gone or locked up in private collections and museums.

It has a perfect traceable history:

1975 to 1976 bought new and John Stoopman did one race, the 1976 endurance round at Phillip Island and the car scared him so much he didn't like it so he sold it and went back to his reliable XU1.

1976 to 1979 owned and raced by David Langman who was a privateer but loved the car and raced it mainly at Victorian rounds but also went interstate for a few races.

1976 Langman also leased the car out to Bernie Mcclure to race after Bernie sold his racing L34 (now the "Blues Union car) to the Moss/Brabham Bathurst deal in 1976.

1979 Langman had an accident while racing it at Sandown which resulted in the car being on its roof so Langman decided it was time to move it on and he put a full length Wabasto slide back sun roof in the car to help hide the damage, took the engine and gearbox out and the front brake callipers to put into his new upgraded A9X and sold the car with standard 308 Torana mechanicals.

1979 Jim Banaves bought the car (he never knew it was an ex race group C car) from the traded in car yard as a road car and owned it from 1979 to 1998.

1998 bought by current owner. He tracked down the original owner, then car yard (all documented) and repaired the car back to a Group C car as you see it today.

Successfully raced at Sandown historics in 2003 and it has been raced all over the joint ever since.

Full documented history and pictorial history which will be passed onto the next owner.

Current Cams C of D. For "GOLD" C of D it needs the fitment of and original style aluminium fuel tank in the boot.

Also has the "original on the car" front brake callipers, rear drums, interior complete including the seats, front sway bar, wheels, all the glass (less windscreen), all the doors (removed and rusty) and once again, the original ID plates have never been removed. The steel roll cage is not original as it needed to comply as per schedule J in the CAMS manual.

The engine is fresh, CAMS sealed and 100% legal. The gearbox and diff are new (rebuilt), the shockers and springs have been recently rebuilt and matched, it has "wrong" 28 spline axels but now they don't break and is ready to race today.

The spare package is huge, a good race 308 engine with cheater heads, fresh rebuild gearbox (both with polished gear sets), fresh diff with Detroit locker, original set of Hotwires (not on car), set of 15x10 Young Bloods with new wet tyres fitted, pair of original AP Lockheed callipers with a new reseal kit, multiple sets of front brake pads in different compounds both new and used, new brake master cylinder, new rear wheel cylinders, fully rebuild L34 distributor set up with coils, two set of new Harrop front brake discs, new Exedon clutch, multiple coil spring set ups, multiple diff ratio set ups in 3.55:1, 3.36:1, 3.08:1, multiple gearboxes in parts for parts, multiple assorted sizes of used tyres (good for track days only) in both wet and dry, the "original" driver's seat and rear back rest seat (with no roll cage holes), used starter motor and alternator, and a heap of smaller bits that are hard to get on the day.
