1976 LX SS Torana Hatchback 4.2L V8 manual (SOLD)

The name Torana is derived from an Aboriginal word meaning "To Fly", and in the hands of Peter Brock he would make the Torana do just that around Mount Panorama. The Torana GTR, XU-1, SL/R, SS and A9X have made an indelible mark on the Australian motoring landscape and remain prized possessions for those lucky enough to own one.

Here is your chance to own a very special example, and this one ticks all the boxes! Nowadays it is rare to find a totally unmolested example of the SS Torana Hatch. Well here you have a fully restored LX SS Torana with the all matching numbers 4.2L V8 and M20 4 speed manual gearbox. No flares. No big wheels. Just the way the Holden designers headed by Leo Pruneau meant it to be!

In stunning perfect condition Mandarin Red paint and Slate black golf ball trim, this SS was fully restored in 2010 and still presents in as new condition. The car comes with its original owners manuals, original registration and insurance documentation and the GMH letter of verification.

The interior has been retrimmed in its original slate black golf ball trim, all the gauges work and the car comes with the dealer installed AM radio with the original radio operators manual.

The SS rides on its original 13" steel rims with original hub caps. The advertising for the SS declared it "road-ready with its combination of wide-track stance, rack-and-pinion steering, sports springs and shocks, front and rear anti-sway bars, radial tyres, and power-assisted braking with front disc brakes."

While not the ultimate expression of high performance like the A9X Hatchback of which Holden produced only 100 examples, this little red Hatchback is still hugely collectible in its remarkable condition, especially combined with its original documentation and unmolested state.
