Now for sale is this fully restored early build XA GT Sedan in the stunning hero colour of Red Pepper with Black trim and featuring the matching numbers 351 4V Cleveland motor and 4 speed Top Loader gearbox. Located for your inspection in our Sydney Showroom.

At the time, the XA Falcon was renowned as the first all Australian designed Falcon, and the first Falcon GT to include both a 4 door sedan and a hardtop version. It was a huge milestone event in the history of Ford in Australia, and following the Bathurst success of the GTHO's in '70 and '71, the XA went on to achieve victories at Mt Panorama again in '73 and '74. They were very good years for Ford and their fans.

For the first time Ford was designing cars from scratch here in Australia. The designers moved away from the not too subtle brick box like design of the XR through XY range and moved to the more aerodynamic flowing ''Coke bottle" body design with a new wrap around cockpit style dash and high backed bucket seats.

The GT's received NACA style air scoops on the bonnet, attractive black out highlights, driving lights mounted in the grill, and unique vertical vents in the front guards. Gone were the Super Roo stripes and the ''XY only'' bonnet shaker. The XA GT was now a more mature streamlined GT.

We are pleased to offer this outstanding all numbers matching Red Pepper manual XA GT for sale. According to the ACCHS Report, this GT is one of 1,062 4 speed manual XA GTs built, one of 320 in Red Pepper, one of 193 with the Black trim combo and an unique 1 of 1 build with the options fitted.

Delivered new from Hillis Ford of Wagga Wagga, NSW the car stayed in the original ownership until 2006 when it was sold to a Sydney collector owner. This owner bare metal restored this rust free XA in 2013 and the meticulous restoration was finally completed in 2021. The owner rebuilt the all numbers matching original D block 351 4V Cleveland V8, 4 speed Top Loader manual gearbox and 3.25:1 9" diff. The GT has covered approximately 500 miles since the restoration was completed. The engine rebuild is to factory spec with the exception of the fitment of a Holley Carby, mild cam and Pacemaker extractors.

The under-bonnet area shows a high level of attention to correct detail and includes the original factory radiator build tags and date correct horns. All glass is date code correct as are the driving lights, headlights and tail lights. The grill and side badges are original as is the front and rear bumpers.

Brakes and suspension have all been rebuilt with new front end, ball joints, new master cylinder, and the correct original XA GT tramp rods and big finned rear drums are still in place.

The interior is immaculate with excellent seat bolstering and correct seat facings, door cards and hood lining. Dash is perfect, all gauges and controls work. The GT is fitted with optional retractable seat belts.

The spare in the boot is a correct 12 slotter and there is a correct jack, tools and original tool bag and new boot mat.

The car is sitting on mint 14 x 7 12 slots rims with mint dress rims and caps and near new 205/70R14 redwall tyres. A quality fitted car cover is also supplied.

This is a glamour quality, strong driving GT that really turns heads, sounds amazing and gets up and goes like a healthy GT should. The GT has recently been Ceramic coated.
