1990 VN SS Commodore ... (SOLD)

Now for sale this rare VN Commodore SS, available for your inspection in Launceston, Tasmania.

The VN Commodore saw the return of the SS nameplate not seen without a HDT badge attached since the VH Commodore. At the time, the VN SS was sold at a whisker under the Calais as the most expensive VN Commodore you could buy. Evolving through subsequent generations, the SS added features like independent rear suspension, ABS, a 5.7-litre V8 and even a supercharged V6 option but it was the VN that set the template for the modern SS that followed - right through to the last Aussie VF SS Commodore.

Rarely offered for sale is this very nice VN SS Commodore featuring the 5L V8 and 5 speed manual combo. The car has recently received a 2 Pac respray in factory Atlas Grey metallic paint while the car still retains the immaculate original interior.

Featuring the all matching numbers 5.0-litre 165 kW (221hp) fuel injected V8 engine, T5 manual transmission, Limited Slip Differential, Driving lights, FE2 sports suspension, Body kit including front & rear bumper lip, side skirts, boot lip spoiler, SS decals and striping and SS interior fabrics incorporating a grey/red checker design.

Genuine 203,259 km from new with receipts for recent works including a rebuild for the LSD, new internal and external fuel pumps, all fluids and filters replaced, new brake rotors, pads and 1” master cylinder, new coil, leads and plugs plus a set of brand new Maxxis tyres.

This SS is a very honest example and was still running its original GM 1989 dated plug leads/AC plugs and coil until recently (will be included with car on sale). It appears that the heads have never been removed from the engine.

Working factory A/C, original AM/FM cassette player and power steering. Damage and rust free car. All original trim and carpets all in immaculate condition. Immaculate hood lining, with original gear knob, stereo and speakers.

Originally sold through Motors P/L in Hobart, Tasmania and comes with original Holden glovebox wallet, log books (has sustained some water damage) and transfer/rego papers dating back to 1998 plus some original photos prior to the repaint.

There is an original spare VN SS 15" alloy wheel with tyre and original boot matt and tools.
