Now for sale a 1979 Holden HZ Sandman Panel Van 253 V8 and 4 speed manual in Flamenco Red with Buckskin trim. Located in Hobart, Tasmania.

Super rare 4.2 Litre and 4 speed HZ Holden Sandman Panel van in striking Flamenco Red in superb maintained condition. Being an Adelaide built Sandman it does not feature the XX7 Sandman code on the compliance plate but does feature the important Sandman identifiers of 2 for the seating capacity and the unique to Sandman towing capacity which for HZ XX7 Sandman vans from 1978 was 2000kg. 

This time warp original HZ Sandman Panel van was bought from the second owner of over 32 years and is now in the care of the forth owner. Mostly original paint and original Buckskin trim in excellent condition throughout. 

Factory Flamenco Red paint shows nil rust and nil accident damage. Decals are in very good condition as is the chrome and glass including the original front glass. This is a very solid and historically significant Holden panel van.

Running the all matching numbers fully rebuilt 4.2 litre 253 cubic inch Holden V8 and reconditioned 4 speed M20 manual gearbox and LSD diff. The 253 was rebuilt in 2021 and is supplied with receipts of the build. It features a mild cam, extractors and dual custom stainless exhaust system. The Sandman has travelled approximately 6,000 Klms since the rebuild. The HZ is the only Sandman fitted with Radial Tuned Suspension, four quartz halogen headlights and this example is fitted with factory power steering.

The interior features the factory GTS dash, instrumentation and steering wheel and the trim is Buckskin vinyl in all original condition. The crash pad and steering wheel are both in excellent condition. Carpets, door cards are also all original as is the full Sandman headliner. The HZ also features the original working AM radio and colour coded side mirrors. 

The Panelvan is showing a genuine 166,141 klms from new with the 2 sets of original keys and some registration papers, receipts and documentation.

The Sandman rides on widened GTS Rally wheels with Yokohama 245/50R14 on the front and 265/50R14 on the rear. The HZ comes with a spare wheel and also with the factory tools. There is also a front grill Holden badge that comes with the car. 

This is a rare Sandman Panel van that undoubtedly comes with a few cool stories to tell. As they say, if only the walls could speak!

Vehicles offered for sale through AMCS are the responsibility of the Owner / Seller. AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.

When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.

The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. The Buyer understands there is no warranty or guarantee offered by either the Seller or AMCS.

If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.

If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.

AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
