Since the start of the Commodore range, the Holden Calais was positioned as the luxury end of the model range. The 2016 Holden VF Series II Calais V topped the Commodore range with features such as eight-way adjustable leather buckets with heating up front, lane-departure warning, forward collision alert, a colour heads-up display, a sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, sat-nav and a nine-speaker BOSE sound system, GPS, reverse camera and front sensors, lane departure warning, self-park assist and voice command system.

When new, for an extra $8,000 the buyer could further option the Calais V with the 304kW/570Nm 6.2-litre V8. But if 304kW didn't spin your wheels, then for an extra $6,600 the Walkinshaw W375 kit was the go.

For sale is one such beast. Lurking below the mild mannered Phantom Black exterior and super plush leather interior of this Calais V is a tyre frying 375 kW 6.2L LS3 V8 developing 675Nm of torque @ 4800rpm. Developed by Walkinshaw Performance the package utilises a full stainless steel, stepped exhaust system, ceramic coated 4 into 1 long tube headers and high flow catalytic converters. Walkinshaw also added an over the radiator cold air intake to gather greater volumes of airflow into the engine, resulting in greater efficiencies in power and economy. This is finished with all infill panels and shrouds keeping the original equipment look of the vehicle.

ECU recalibration developed on a dyno takes full advantage of the increase in induction and exhaust performance, resulting in a very exciting driver’s vehicle that stands out from the crowd. The package is supplied with rear deck lid badging, engine bay identification, certificate of Authenticity and Walkinshaw Performance’s unique driveline warranty for complete peace of mind. The Calais was also optioned with the Walkinshaw sill plates to finish off this very desirable luxo muscle car.

In the hands of the one enthusiast owner from new, this Calais V has covered a genuine 90,526km and is supplied with the original logbooks with full and meticulous service history, all owner’s manuals, the Walkinshaw authenticity certificate, manuals and two sets of keys. The Calais V has been serviced religiously every 5,000km from new with the last service less than 1,000km ago.

The Calais V is riding on brand new Pirelli tyres and the original spare is in the boot and unused.
