2007 FPV BFII F6 Typhoon R-Spec - 204/300 - 9,183 klms from new!
Australian motoring enthusiasts were frankly blindsided by Ford's introduction of the F6 Typhoon. In fact, not since the Bathurst bred R/T E49 Valiant Charger had Australia seen anything like this power from a humble six cylinder.
Overnight, the turbocharged version of the ‘Barra’ 3984cc DOHC, 24-valve straight-six put Ford's XR8 in the shade. With 270kW and 550Nm of torque, the six-speed manual Typhoon could whip the best of the Aussie V8s, both on the straights and when carving corners.
But could FPV produce an even better F6? Well, yes they could. Enter the 2007 F6 Typhoon R-Spec. This limited edition F6, with only 300 examples built, remains the purest expression of six-cylinder Aussie performance since the R/T E49.
Though it came with a unique 'Certificate of Build Authenticity’ this was no sticker special. Instead, it followed the R-Spec formula previously laid down by the 40th anniversary FPV GT. "The initial idea behind R-Spec was to provide an FPV vehicle for those who wanted to be more competitive at track days and club sprint events, but who didn’t want to compromise on the comfort of daily driving either," said then-FPV General Manager, Rod Barrett.
The F6 R-Spec Typhoon achieved its intent with a bespoke suspension setup, specifically tuned to the mass of the six-cylinder super sedan. Front damping rates were a key focus, the goal to improve turn-in response while retaining ride quality. ‘Dark Argent’ (read: gunmetal-accented) 19-inch alloys and a rear spoiler lifted the exterior, along with specific badging.
Inside, the R-Spec gained FPV’s leather seats and iPod connectivity as standard, along with further model identification.
The R-Spec’s blend of rarity and sharper handling makes it highly desirable.
AMCS is proud to offer for sale a perfect example of FPV's BFII F6 Typhoon R-Spec. This one owner Winter White example has covered a documented 9,183 klms from new. And to top it off, build number 204/300 is one of only 100 6 speed manuals built.
Purchased new in November 2007 by the current/original owner the car has been driven sparingly, has always been garaged, has not seen rain, has never been parked outside overnight or in carparks and has just been driven and parked back in the shed.
Of course the car is mechanically perfect with all fluids changed at regular intervals.
Factory options include the R-Spec at $1,364, the sort after upgraded Brembo brake package at $4,109 and the electric sunroof at $2,045. The car also comes with the FPV dealer supplied race helmet which further underscores the intent of these amazing FPV muscle cars.

The interior is in immaculate condition and there are no dents, scrapes, marks or scratches. Anywhere. The original R-spec floor mats are as new having been in storage from new.
