2004 Ford Falcon BA XR8 Utility - Citric Acid … (SOLD)

Super tidy 2004 BA Falcon XR8 Ute in signature Citric Acid now for sale from Botany, NSW.

Ford had a lot resting on the success of the BA Falcon after the poor reception to the AU. The BA series featured a substantially revised and more conservative exterior styling, with every panel new except for the carry-over door skins. Interiors, too, were substantially revised, while mechanically, a new independent rear suspension setup was fitted to all sedan derivatives and the engine and transmissions received extensive upgrades. The BA model represented a A$500 million investment, and 24,000 hours of engine and durability testing. Germany's Nürburgring test track was used for the suspension testing. The anti-lock brakes and electronic stability control were calibrated in Sweden, as well as Australia.

And the response from the Aussie market was exceptional. The BA model received the influential Wheels Car of the Year award in 2002, breaking a 36-year drought. The BA also won four consecutive Australia's Best Cars awards, spanning three years. Plus the BA's market share briefly topped that of its chief competitor, the Holden Commodore on two occasions, but failed to match the record-breaking sales of the EL Falcon.

To match the revised styling, Ford introduced some pretty sexy colours on the BA range. One of the most outstanding colours offered was Citric Acid. For sale is a ONE OWNER super well preserved and documented Citric Acid Falcon XR8 Ute. This Ute has done light work over the years and presents in incredibly good original condition throughout.

The paint work is in good condition with only minor marks on the front and rear bars plus normal road wear to bonnet and rear tail gate. The rear tray has always been protected by a factory tray liner which also looks to be in excellent condition. A hard lockable Tourneau cover is an optional extra. There is a Jubilee Ford Work Mates Ute badge on the rear tailgate.

The interior is also in great shape with the seats having been covered their entire life with sheep skin covers. The door cards are unmarked, the original carpets, hood lining and crash pad are in excellent condition. And an upgraded dealer fitted Momo two tone leather bound steering wheel was fitted at the first service. The XR8 Ute is fitted with factory working A/C, power steering, radio/CD player and all gauges in working order. The XR8 is showing 154,078 Klms and the Ute is supplied with the original Ford Compendium, Jubilee Ford Sales Invoice indicating optional PBR Brakes, 5 x 18" wheels and Ford alarm, Owners Manuals, Log Books, Jubilee Ford service booklet and two sets of keys. Even the Ford production line build sheet is still with the car.

The Ute features the matching numbers 5.4 L Boss 260kW V8 (350 hp) delivering 500 Nm of Torque. The engine bay presents in great condition with all delivery stickers and parts stickers still in place. The car has a full log book service history and according to the owner of 17 years performs and drives perfectly. The XR8 has factory Ford upgraded PBR front brakes.

The XR8 also has the optional factory hard Tourneau cover, tray liner, cargo net plus original unused tools and excellent original spare.
