2001 Tickford AUII Falcon XR8 Rebel ... (SOLD)

In 2001, Tickford built 125 very special XR8 Falcons known as the XR8 Rebel. These limited build cars were fitted with a distinctive Ford Racing bodykit (instead of the standard Tickford version) and, more importantly, the 220 kW (300 hp) hand built "Synergy 5000" 5.0-Litre V8 version of the "Windsor" engine from the FTE T series.

At close to $50,000, the XR8 Rebel was the most expensive XR8 offered at the time. For the money, buyers got a unique Ford Motorsport-inspired Peregrine bodykit, 18-inch Speedline alloy wheels from the TS50, a Momo steering wheel and gearknob, and a complimentary PlayStation2 console with a copy of Gran Turismo 3 signed by both Glenn Seton and Steven Richards - all of which represented $5,000 in extra value.

Why a free PlayStation? To celebrate Ford Tickford Racing's association with Sony PlayStation2's new Grand Turismo 3 car racing game, which featured an FTR Falcon V8 Supercar.

For sale is an excellent example of the XR8 Rebel. In stunning Venom red with optional Warm Charcoal Leather trim and electric sunroof, this Rebel has covered a genuine 217,581 Klms from new. The car is all original paint except for the front bar and side skirts which were repainted due to stone chipping. This Rebel is in excellent condition throughout with nil accident damage, 2 owners from new with the current owner since 2011 and comes with personalised VIC Reg TK4ORD.

The interior is in excellent condition with all working gauges, CD player and ice cold Air conditioning. The car is riding on excellent original 18" alloys with good rubber. The XR8 also comes with front and rear floor mats, an original owners manual and original spacesaver spare jack and tools. Unfortunately the PlayStation2 game stayed with the kids of the first owner.
