For sale is a simply stunning unmolested original VL Commodore Executive in Alpine White with Sandalwood trim running the matching numbers 3 litre 6 cylinder engine and 4 speed automatic gearbox. For sale from our Sydney Showroom.

The VL Commodore was a substantial makeover of the VK, and would be the last of the mid-sized Commodores. The designers softened the lines for the VL, rounding off the panels and introducing a small tail spoiler built into the boot lid. Holden also implemented rectangular headlamps as opposed to the square shaped ones fitted to earlier models. For the top-of-the-range Calais model, the design incorporated the use of semi-retracting headlight covers as seen on the prototype Torana GTR-X and a first for a production Holden.

Major changes were made to the dashboard with new instruments, touch switches mounted either side controlling wipers, rear window demister, electric antenna (Berlina/Calais), and the headlight switch moved from the right-hand dash side to the indicator stalk. Heating, ventilation and air-conditioning control graphics changed slightly, the centre console offered more storage with a new transmission shifter and surround.

Finding a totally unmolested original VL Commodore Executive nowadays is becoming more difficult and one in this condition with low mileage and log books is a rarity.

Powered by Nissan's robust 3.0-litre in-line six and fitted with factory integrated air conditioning, power steering, wind up windows, intermittently working clock and factory Holden AM/FM/Cassette stereo radio, this survivor VL has covered a genuine 152,611 klms from new and presents in excellent condition throughout.

The VL is presented in the factory Alpine White paint and presents in excellent rust and damage free condition. The Commodore was ordered from Arthur Ellis Motors in Heidelberg, Victoria and delivered in March, 1986. The car was dealership ordered with AC Delco pin striping, wheel arch moulding strips, mud flaps and chrome door handles. The Executive is also fitted with headlight and bonnet protectors. The interior is all original with excellent seat trims, carpets, dash, working gauges and immaculate steering wheel.

Mechanically, the car runs and drives beautifully and has just had a full service. All matching numbers, the engine bay presents in immaculate condition throughout with working A/C.

Riding on four 14" steel rims with factory Commodore Executive hubcaps with Reliance 215x65/R14 tyres. Open the boot and there is a boot carpet, jack and tools plus the original unused Dunlop spare tyre.

Supplied with the original dealership folder, log books and manuals, AC Delco Pin Striping literature, Commodore Service Manual and a set of keys.

This is a time warp quality survivor unmolested VL Commodore Executive. Honestly too good to modify but if 3.0 litres of overhead-cam grunt are not enough you could always fit a Garrett T03 turbo.

For sale from our Sydney Showroom. (Ref. 6354)

Or if you wish we will gladly arrange a video tour of the car using WhatsApp and of course there is no issue with door to door enclosed transport anywhere in Australia or New Zealand.
