Making headlines in 1978 was the movie Grease, a gallon of gas cost about 63 cents and the Sony Walkman made it's debut. 1978 was also the year Ford launched the Built Ford Tough slogan, and sold 864,000 F-Series trucks.

For sale is an Australian delivered 1978 Ford F350 running the original 351 CUI V8 and 4 Speed Top Loader gearbox. The F350 was originally owned by the NSW Department of Main Roads thus the switches for the various lights on the dash. Converted to run dual fuel in 1993, the gas system was inspected in January, 2022 and so is approved for the next 10 years. Used by a trenching contractor as a work vehicle, the F350 has always been registered. The current owner has owned the truck for the past 25 years and has now retired so does not need the truck for his business anymore. Located near Scone, NSW.

Factory fitted with under dash airconditioning (needs reconditioning) and dual rear wheel set up with 4,500KG GVM, the F350 has covered 509,007 Klms from new. The engine was fully rebuilt approximately 50,000 Klms ago with a new 4BBL Holley carby, stainless steel valves and cam to suit dual fuel. Mechanically the truck runs and drives well and is ready to get down to work once again.

The interior is basically original with seating for 3 with new bench seat trim covering. Seat belts are fitted for 3 with retractable seatbelts for the driver and one passenger and a lap belt for the centre passenger. There are still the NSW Department of Main Roads light switches on the dash plus a radio/cassette player.

The tray is steel framed with a solid wood floor. The tray has a covered tool compartment plus enclosed steel boxes on either side for tools and a 240w generator. There is also a super sturdy steel head board.

Tyres are all roadworthy with 6 spare wheels included in the sale. Comes with loads of spares as pictured.

The vehicle shows nil structural rust with very minor surface rust around the door frames.

The truck is perfect as a reliable work vehicle, strong tow vehicle or go to town and create a super cool pimped out show truck.

Still on the original NSW number plates KBO-439. NSW registration until 23 February, 2023.

Located near Scone, NSW for your inspection. (Ref. 6104)

If you wish we will gladly arrange a video tour of the car using WhatsApp and of course there is no issue with door to door enclosed transport anywhere in Australia or New Zealand.

Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.

AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
