1976 HX Holden Caprice
Now for sale this immaculate '76 HX Caprice. Located in Perth WA.
If you'd made it in the 70's you had the choice of an European prestige cruiser or the top of the range Aussie luxo mobile from Ford, GMH or Chrysler. And the pinnacle on the Holden offering was the Statesman Caprice, a glammed up version of the Statesman DeVille.
Very rare to find, this HX Statesman Caprice is presented in original unrestored condition in the original acrylic Chamois paint with matching vinyl roof and Chamois leather trim.
For the extra dollars over the DeVille the Caprice got extra chrome, a Walnut dash, executive style pillar mounted reading lights, sumptuous Howe leather (a no cost option over the velour), full electrics including power windows and cruise control, Caprice badging, unique grill and wheel trims plus an extra dose of prestige.
A three owner car from new, this Caprice runs the matching numbers 308 V8 engine mated to the bullet proof Turbo 400 automatic gearbox and comes with its original log books and owners manuals, 197,511 km travelled from new. Still wearing original number plates as documented in owners log book and drivers manual when purchased new in Adelaide, SA from United Motors.
This Caprice has lived all it's life in Adelaide and now is for sale from a private collection in Perth. Definitely a rare and appreciating asset that can be cruised in style for decades to come.
