In 1976, a young Policeman on his way home from work as a general duties officer was passing Fair Deal Motors on Church Street, Parramatta in Sydney and spotted a Mustard yellow HQ GTS Monaro for sale. Now after owning this stunning HQ GTS Monaro for nearly 45 years, its time to find a new owner to enjoy this very special survivor HQ.
With only two owners from new, this HQ GTS Monaro was driven daily up until about 1988. It was then shedded while his 5 children were growing up and then in 2010, it was sent to the owners mechanic to get it back on the road. The brakes and radiator were sorted. The oils changed. And since then, it has been driven on the odd occasion locally. All paperwork for the repairs comes with the car.
The HQ GTS is running the matching numbers 253 V8 and the 3 speed Trimatic automatic. Mechanically the car has been maintained to perfection with regular oil changes. The engine is still totally original and has never been rebuilt or modified. The car was resprayed in acrylic in the 1980s and the interior was retrimmed around the same time in velour with yellow piping using the original seats, door cards, hood lining, crash pad etc. The under dash A/C (needing regas), driving lights and Aunger rear window louvre are day two modifications by the owner.
The car has covered a genuine 196,463 klms from new with 70,009 Klms covered by the original owner and then the remaining kilometres by the current owner. The car is an accident and damage free car and is straight and solid and super reliable.
The boot is still fitted with the original boot mat rubber and comes with a genuine spare with period tyre fitted.
This is truly a time capsule HQ Monaro and a perfect way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release of the HQ Holden.

Vehicles offered for sale through AMCS are the responsibility of the Owner / Seller. AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.
When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.
The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. The Buyer understands there is no warranty or guarantee offered by either the Seller or AMCS.
If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.
If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.
AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
