Mind bogglingly gorgeous 1972 GTS HQ Monaro in Nutmeg Metallic with Antique Saddle trim. Nut and bolt restoration completed to the very highest standards that can be achieved in Perth 5 years ago to factory specifications.

As featured in the Aussie movie “Metal Skin” (prior to the restoration), this HQ GTS Monaro coupe runs the all matching numbers 253 V8 and 4 speed M20 manual gearbox and 3.08:1 diff with 1,500 miles covered since the restoration. Built at the GMH Melbourne Plant and sold through a Melbourne Holden dealer, the car comes with period correct log books and owners manual, plus a huge photo file of the restoration by the professional restorer in Perth.

Coupes are now few on the ground and the HQ model is the most sought after of the 2 door series. The current owner has lavished well over $100,000 to bring this car up to better than showroom condition with a ground up nut and bolt restoration completed in 2015. This included blue printing and balancing the matching numbers 253 motor, rebuilding the gearbox and diff, plus fitting a full stainless exhaust front to back painted in ceramic coated high temp black paint so as to look stock.

The whole restoration is documented with photos and of course everything has been checked, recalibrated, rebuilt so that it all works perfectly. The gauges have been recalibrated. The steering column has been refurbished with new bearings. The indicator switch assembly and steering wheel have been refurbished. The window winders are all restored. The heater core has been replaced. Nothing and we mean nothing has been left to chance.

In the boot there is the original tool kit with jack and excellent spare tyre with new old stock boot mat.
