1971 XY Fairmont GS 351 4 Speed (SOLD)

Now this is a real beauty. Unrestored SURVIVOR XY Fairmont K code 351 Cleveland V8, factory 4 speed Top Loader and 9" diff with dealer fitted GS Rallye Pack. This is a mostly original paint car with the Vintage Burgundy paint showing a life well lived, thin in some areas and touched up in others but still a site to behold, and those gold GS stripes and chrome GS hub caps really set this car apart from the GT crowd. And you'll be pleased to know that there is no rust or accident damage evident throughout this classic Fairmont.

Open the doors and you can still smell that wonderful old vinyl smell. Yes, that's right, the Black trim is all day one too. There's one split in the drivers seat vinyl but the rest of the trim including hood lining, door cards, crash pad, original day one carpet, glass, even the original keys are all there in excellent original condition. She's showing just 70,211 miles on the odometer and there's plenty of life left in this baby. Plant yourself in the drivers seat and that beautiful fully appointed GS dash with 8,000 rpm tacho, 140 mph speedo and GS steering wheel fall into reach. And look up and wind back the factory installed GOLDE sunroof and let the sun shine in. You'd have to agree that this is an XY that ticks all the boxes.

The original factory installed 351 2V V8 is still the day one item and runs smooth and strong. Mated to the factory 4 speed top loader gearbox and 9" diff, there's not much difference to this loaded Fairmont and a GT Falcon. And nowadays, with so many replicas on the road its nice to see something as genuine and unmolested as this classic XY. Especially one that features a factory 351, sunroof and cool colour combo. This is a great reliable driver and is currently registered in NSW with the same letters and numbers as the original QLD number plates. Current owner for the past 11 years.
