1970 XY GT Falcon (SOLD)

Hey True Blue! It doesn't get much more Aussie than a True Blue XY GT Falcon. With only 36 True Blue XY GTs ever built, this is a rare opportunity to secure one of the most iconic Australian Muscle cars. In the careful hands of one owner for over 30 years, this car has been loved to within an inch of its life. She still retains the original matching numbers engine which has been rebuilt, blueprinted and balanced to HO specifications by the long term owner who in his day was a well known drag racer and was actually dubbed Mr. Ford for his drag racing exploits. Naturally the FMX automatic has been replaced by a 4 speed top loader gearbox with factory LSD 9" diff.

The car has been treated to an exterior paint job in Spartan 2 pack. While the interior including door cards, carpets, hoodling and seats featuring the factory B2 cloth trim are in totally original day one and excellent condition. This XY GT left the factory optioned with Air conditioning, dual racing mirrors, Superfringe radio and 36 Gallon fuel tank (since swapped out). Over the years as they did in the 80s, the car was slightly modded to the taste of the owner and of the times with some chroming of the engine bay parts. But we think its nice to see a GT survive with the modifications we made over the years.

Riding on genuine Bathurst Globe rims with excellent red wall tyres, the GT has covered a genuine 139,897 miles with only 243 miles since 2007. Summernats Top sedan 1986 and 1988 and as featured in Ford Muscle Cars Magazine with a huge write up titled "Too True Blue" and wearing its old NSW plates OZI-351, there is not another more iconic example of true blue Australiana. The car comes with a comprehensive originality checklist verification letter from the Tonka Shop which was authorised by the Falcon GT owners Club of NSW.
