1970 Ford XW Fairmont GS Replica
Yes, you are seeing double. Two factory XW Ford Fairmonts in Imperial Burgundy, both 302 V8s and now both GS Replicas. Both now for sale and available for inspection at our Sydney Showroom.
The first is a genuine Imperial Burgundy XW Fairmont with white roof (paint code AC) originally delivered with the stunning Mist Gold trim. This car has had a full nut & bolt restoration to a very high standard approximately 10 years ago and still presents in impeccable condition. The Fairmont has covered a mere 1,679 miles since the restoration.
Mechanically the XW is running a stroker 393 Windsor that makes 550hp with the aid of a Scat crank, Scat rods, Victor Junior aluminium heads, 11:1 compression, roller rockers, Camtech Hydraulic roller cam, Edelbrock manifold and Crane ignition, extractors and a dual 2.5" exhaust. The factory 4 speed Top Loader gearbox has been fully rebuilt and power goes to the ground through a 9" diff with 31 spline axles and 3.7:1 LSD gears. The original complete running matching numbers 302 Windsor engine is supplied with the car.
On the inside the XW has been re-trimmed in Parchment as Mist Gold is no longer available. A GT/GS steering wheel, GS dash with 8,000 RPM tacho and 140 MPH speedo plus correct Fuel, Oil and Temp gauges have been fitted. And a clock and AM/FM retro look Superfringe radio have been fitted. New seat belts, hood lining, carpets ... nothing has been left unrestored. You'll also note that all rubbers have been replaced and all door mechanisms rebuilt and cad plated. A rear window venetian has also been fitted.
The XW is riding on correct 14" steel rims with mint GS chrome hubcaps and excellent white wall tyres plus a spare in the boot. The underside of the GS is also super tidy with the brakes and suspension fully rebuilt and sorted plus a new fuel tank installed.
According to the ACCHS report, this XW Fairmont is 1 of 1 for paint and trim combination and 1 of 1 for options fitted making this an ultra desirable and rare cruiser.
The car comes with a letter of verification from Ford, a receipt folder, an original set of keys and the original XW bonnet.
