1967 Ford XR Fairmont 289 V8 - Onyx Black ... (SOLD)

Stunning show car having been recently displayed at Melbourne Motorex in 2022, this factory XR Fairmont has been restored to perfection and is ready to cruise or show. Something different to a GT Replica and a lovely example of the original square Falcons. For sale from our Sydney Showroom.

Over $150,000 has been spent on the restoration of this stunner. Running a Mustang 289 V8 freshly restored with Holley 650 carby, mild cam, Edelbrock RPM Airgap manifold, ceramic coated extractors through to a 2 1/2" stainless exhaust then through to a C10 automatic gearbox with 3,000 stall, transmission cooler and 9" diff with 3.55:1 gears.

The XR was rotisserie restored and painted in 2 pack Onyx Black in 2018 and was finally completed in 2021. There has been amazing attention to detail including polished chrome, stainless, cad plating and new glass. On the inside the XR has been fully retrimmed in Palomino XR Fairmont trim, with new door cards, hood lining, seat belts front and rear, heater box, kick panels and carpets. Sound proofing has been installed under the carpets. The dash is out of an XR GT with GT speedo and tachometer and GT temp, pressure and fuel gauges fitted. A a retro sound AM/FM stereo with Blue Tooth is also installed and the steering wheel is a restored XR Fairmont wheel with working horn.

The XR Fairmont is riding on genuine 14" steel rims with BF Goodrich red walled tyres and excellent Falcon wheel caps. In the boot is a new boot mat, spare tyre and restored tools.

The underside has been fully detailed with rebuilt suspension and braking system.

This is a class act in a rare to find XR Fairmont. Impossible to restore for the asking price and a fabulous cruiser or show car.
