1966 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray 327 - Tuxedo Black ... (SOLD)

In 1966, the Beatles were in their heyday, Lyndon Johnson was President and Chevrolet's second generation "Sting Ray" was hitting the streets. For sale from our Sydney Showroom is a spectacular survivor Tuxedo Black '66 Corvette Stingray 327 4 speed in mind blowing original condition.

There is arguably no US muscle car more iconic than an early model Chevy Sting Ray. And for sale, we have a survivor example of the 1966 Corvette Sting Ray in super rare Tuxedo Black with simply sensational original red trim. A NCRS Top Flight Award recipient in 2010, this Corvette has scored 98/100 in the concours judging. Featuring the matching numbers 327 Cui V8 and 4 speed close ratio manual gearbox with 4.11 Posi Traction rear end, this Corvette is a glamour.

Mechanically, the Corvette has been maintained throughout its life and comes with a huge dossier folder of receipts. The 300hp 327 Turbo Fire V8 has been rebuilt to factory specifications and features the original 4BBL carby. Gears are swapped via the 4 speed Muncie gearbox with Hurst Shifter and power goes to the ground through a factory optioned 4.11 Posi Traction rear end.

The exterior paint is day one Tuxedo Black and does show signs of crows feet but is shiny and very presentable. The interior is extraordinary with the factory installed red trim, carpets, hood lining, door cards, gauges and steering wheel all still in place as well as the working analog clock and the original factory optioned AM/FM radio with power antenna. The car is showing 47,378 miles.

The Corvette is riding on the original Multispoke knock off rims with genuine vintage red walled tyres.

The Corvette comes with a huge folder of receipts, the framed Top Flight Award from NCRS and the original sales invoice showing options ordered and the delivering Chevrolet dealer. The current owner purchased the car from a US collection in 2010 and imported it to Australia so import paperwork is also included.
