1964 EH Premier - 600hp RB30 Twin Cam Turbo ... (SOLD)

Street Machine Magazine 600hp EH Premier Turbo now for sale, located in Ermington, Sydney.

At first glance you'd be forgiven for thinking this was just a beautifully restored EH Premier. But look a little closer and you'll see a nice surprise hidden under that sexy bonnet. Gone is the Holden 179 6 cylinder pushrod engine and in its place a fully engineered race spec'd Nissan RB30/26 six delivering over 606hp on pump fuel (412kW at 25psi on E85) built by Turbos-R-Us. Only the best internals have been used in the build including a Garrett 950hp GTX turbo, custom CP forged pistons, Argo rods, massive cams, custom extractors and a stainless exhaust system. The owner's goal - to build a 9 second street car that would turn heads and win some trophies along the way.

This is a dream that has become a reality. And nothing has been short changed in this build. In order to cope with the massive power, the chassis has been strengthened using a HR front end kit and the brakes have been beefed up with Alcon calipers and 290mm rotors up front and VL discs at the back. Power is delivered through a manualised 2 speed Powerglide built by Northmead Automatics with B&M shifter, transbrake and 4,000rpm TCE stall and then through to a Strange 9" diff with 4.11:1 gear ratio and 35 spline Mark Williams axles with Caltracs to improve traction.

The car has been beautifully repainted in Balhannah Green with Fowlers Ivory roof and the classic EH styling continues with the sparkling chromework and classic rear window venetian blind. Perhaps the only hint on the exterior that something more is going on here are the 15x7 and 15x8 Centreline mags with semi slick tyres on the rear, the bonnet latches and the intercooler which is hidden behind the front grille. On the inside, its a different story altogether. There is an ANDRA approved six point chrome moly roll cage, a Momo sports steering wheel, lots of Autometer gauges and of course those beautiful body hugging Recaro sports seats with RCI harnesses.

Take a look under the car and you will quickly see the quality workmanship that has gone into the build of this car. And all the modifications from the driveline, braking system, chassis mods, roll cage to the replacement of the steering box with a shortened Commodore rack and pinion set up, the fitment of a custom alloy fuel tank and even the relocation of battery to the boot are all covered off in the engineers report.

In the current ownership for over 25 years, this special EH has been a labour of love and has evolved to its current state of sublime perfection. The attention to detail and the thinking that has gone into this stunning car is second to none and it is obvious that the current owner has maintained the car without regard to expense.
