Peter Brock's sell-out success of the 1980 HDT VC Commodore was followed by the VH SS Brock Commodore released in 1982. Holden's SS Commodore, upon which the Brock version was developed was the perfect base to build a performance sedan that could compete with the best from Europe. Brock offered three versions of his VH SS upgrade starting with the Group 1 which featured dash identification, high capacity air cleaner with chrome lid, modified suspension, heavy duty master cylinder, 70 Series Uniroyal tyres, sports steering wheel and gear knob but no body or engine modifications. Wheels were the standard items as fitted to the base SS.

The VH Group 2 was the middle level car of the VH Brock series and featured all of the extras of the Group 1, but also received some extra modifications including blue printed cylinder heads, extractors, chromed rocker covers, gas flowed inlet manifold, front fender wind splitters, rear deck spoiler and Group 2 decals. The Group 3's Irmscher road wheels and additional body components could be optioned onto a Group 2 but were not standard fitment.

Only a handful of these cars were produced, initially in Maranello Red and later in Alabaster White as most buyers chose to opt for the full house Group 3. Finding one of these rare VH Brockies is not easy and Build No. 659 is an extremely well preserved example featuring the matching numbers 4.2 Litre HDT modified pushrod V8, the 4 barrel Rochester Carburettor, port matched inlet manifold and HDT Cold Air induction system with chrome air cleaner lid. The gearbox is the trusty M21 4 speed.

In totally original maintained condition, the Group 2 presents in excellent condition throughout and is unmodified other than the addition of the Simmons alloy wheels. Build No. 659 has covered a documented 226,402 Kilometres and is supplied with the original owners log books, manual, HDT build specification sheet and a HDT Verification certificate.

Certainly a rare Brock Commodore that has been well maintained and preserved. One of 34 Group 2s ever made and one of only 28 in Maranello Red.

AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.

When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.

The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.

If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.

AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
