1978 Ford Falcon XC GS Utility - K-Code 351
The XC Falcon was the last of the all Aussie designed coke bottle styled Falcons that started with the XA back in 1972. The model lineup had been refined to include cleaner 6 and 8 cylinder engines to meet the new ADR rules. And while the GT name was gone the GS variant was still available and cashed up buyers could dial in any number of optional extras to enhance their new car purchase. For sale from our Sydney Showroom is one such super rare survivor XC Utility.
Originally sold through City Ford Sydney, to Bryburn Trading Co. PTY LTD a supplier of military surplus equipment and collectables, this survivor XC Falcon Ute was heavily optioned by the factory. In Sno White with Black trim, the option list includes the much sought after K Code 351 Cleveland V8, T-Bar automatic transmission, the GS Rallyee Pack with sports steering wheel, GS instrumentation and bonnet scoops, factory integrated Airconditioning, Power Steering, remote RHS mirror and LHS mirror, limited slip differential and radio.
The second owner, a mechanic owned the car for many years and faithfully restored the XC with a respray in the original Sno White paint approximately 10 years ago. The interior has been retrimmed with NOS seat trim, new carpet and hood lining while using the original door cards, dash, instruments and steering wheel. The engine bay has also been tidied up with a repaint in Ford Corporate Blue and all factory stickers and markings re-applied.
The engine was also rebuilt by the mechanic owner at the same time as the respray. The XC drives perfectly with a Holley 650 carby, factory manifolds and dual exhaust system. Mechanically the car has been serviced thoroughly with new parts fitted as required to keep this car in perfect running order.
The XC is supplied with the original Log books and owner manual and still features the production line chassis tag noting the paint code 9 and GS Rally Pack option.
The Falcon runs the original 12 slot steel rims with immaculate hub caps and near new Nankang 205x70x14 tyres.
