1977 XC Ford Fairmont GS - 351 V8 4 Speed
The XC Falcon was the last of the all Aussie designed coke bottle styled Falcons that started with the XA back in 1972. The model lineup had been refined to include cleaner 6 and 8 cylinder engines to meet the new ADR rules. And while the GT name was gone the GS variant was still available and cashed up buyers could dial in any number of optional extras to enhance their new car purchase. For sale from Melbourne, VIC.
Originally sold through McKillop Ford, Townsville, QLD, this survivor XC Falcon GS was heavily optioned by the factory. In super rare Sherwood Green with Black trim, the option list includes the much sought after T Code 4V 351 Cleveland V8, 4 speed manual gearbox, the rare Option 48 GS Rallyee Pack with sports steering wheel, ROH 12 slotters, GS instrumentation, Flip Style push button fuel cap and bonnet scoops, factory dual exhaust, sports handling suspension and factory 9 inch 3:00 ratio disc brake limited slip differential. The XC also has the factory fitted AM radio, dual mirrors and bumper over riders fitted.
Just how rare is this XC Fairmont GS? According to the Ford Letter if Verification, only EIGHTY ONE 351 4 speed XC Fairmonts were made. And only one (irrespective of options) was painted Sherwood Green. The XC is fitted from factory with all GT Power Pack options consisting of sports suspension, dual exhaust and LH Diff tramp rod. The car retains its original very rare factory correct unique to 351 4 speed only close ratio Borg Warner gearbox (tagged prefix number 0503-008) & factory green/ blue stripe GT tailshaft and large yoke.
Basically, a thinly disguised Falcon GT without the badging!
In very good condition throughout, this ultra low mileage XC Fairmont has covered a genuine mere 108,277 Kilometres from new. Sold new at McKillop Ford in Townsville, QLD this GS Fairmont was retained by the original owner until 2013, then sold to another owner who was also from Townsville and then purchased by the current and third owner in 2021. The XC is totally original except for a closed door Acrylic respray in 2013 by the second owner. The engine bay retains mostly original factory paint and factory decals and paint markings. The GS retains the matching numbers T-code 4V 351 High Performance Cleveland engine which has never been removed from car. The engine has never been rebuilt only professionally and regularly maintained.
The interior is also all original with only the driver's seat being retrimmed with original factory material. The Fairmont retains the original carpets, dash, door trims, AM radio, unmarked crashpad, roof lining and rear parcel tray which has never had speakers fitted.
The XC is supplied with the Ford Verification Letter and still features the production line chassis tag noting the VIN number (which have never been removed and retains factory rivets), paint code Z and GS Rally Pack option.
The Falcon runs the original 14" 12 slot steel rims with immaculate hub caps and genuine stainless trims and VGC Supercat 215x65R14 tyres on the front and Sumitomo 225x60R14 on the rear. There is an original factory unused Olympic Steelflex tyre and rim in the boot with the original boot mat and factory tools.

Vehicles offered for sale through AMCS are the responsibility of the Owner / Seller. AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.
When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.
The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. The Buyer understands there is no warranty or guarantee offered by either the Seller or AMCS.
If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.
If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.
AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
