For sale by the current owner of 22 years is a stunning example of the HX LE Monaro—a rare and highly desirable limited-edition Australian performance coupe. With only 580 units produced, this iconic vehicle is a true collector's gem, located in Parramatta, NSW.

The Holden HX LE Coupe is a model that blurs the lines between official classification and enthusiast perception. While Holden never officially branded it as a Monaro and it lacked Monaro badges, its striking styling, performance, and features have led many enthusiasts to regard it as a Monaro by association.

As the final coupe of Holden’s first-generation lineup, the HX LE (Limited Edition) combines luxury and sportiness seamlessly. Designed under Leo Pruneau’s direction, it features a distinctive metallic ‘LE’ colour scheme with gold accents, exclusive honeycomb wheels sourced from Pontiac, and a powerful 308-cubic inch V8 engine paired with a Turbo 400 transmission. Inside, it offers a luxurious interior with red velour and plaid seats, walnut trim, and a comprehensive list of standard features including air conditioning, power windows, and a quadraphonic stereo system.

With 257,598 km on the odometer and careful maintenance by a Holden enthusiast, this LE has been well looked after. The vehicle has undergone an external respray over 25 years ago and features a replacement block for the original 308 V8 earlier in its life, along with the original Turbo 400 transmission, Salisbury limited-slip differential, and factory options such as air conditioning, power steering, and power brakes.

The interior remains all original, finished in Burgundy velour with factory cloth inserts and burr walnut-effect trim. It even retains the factory 8-track stereo supplied with the vehicle. The LE is fitted with top-tinted windscreen, heated rear window, analogue clock, electric windows, power radio antenna, and a dual-exit exhaust system—adding to its authentic appeal.

Riding on a set of pristine 14-inch gold-finished honeycomb polycast alloy wheels with chrome lips, this LE exudes classic style. The vehicle also comes with the original owner’s manual and radio manual, further enhancing its collectible value.

The current owner, who has faithfully serviced and maintained the car for over two decades, now offers this remarkable HX LE Monaro for your inspection.

Located in Parramatta,NSW (Ref. 6692), this rare and highly sought-after Australian classic is ready for a new enthusiast.

Terms of sale

Vehicles offered for sale through AMCS are the responsibility of the Owner / Seller. AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.

When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.

The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. The Buyer understands there is no warranty or guarantee offered by either the Seller or AMCS.

If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.

If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.

AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
