1971 XY GT Falcon
Rare to find unrestored Survivor XY GT Falcon now for sale. Located in our Sydney Showroom.
This must have been a dream come true. In the small country town of Stanthorpe, QLD close to the NSW border, a Mr. Neil Sullivan took delivery of this stunning special order Vermilion Fire XY GT Falcon on the 10th of August, 1971. Now in the hands of the fourth custodian of the past 26 years, this car presents very close to the day it was delivered in immaculate original maintained condition throughout. This is a true Survivor XY GT Falcon! Unbelievable unrestored condition in spectacular Vermilion Fire acrylic paint and day one genuine Black trim. This car is as close to the way that Ford manufactured the GT Falcons in 1971 as is possible. A beautifully maintained car that has been loved and cherished all it's life.
This special XY GT was originally sold through Pierpoint Motors in Stanthorpe, QLD and was special ordered with the SVO code of D1207 with a white hoodlining. This makes perfect sense given the car was ordered new to live in the heat of the Queensland countryside. Running the original 351 Cleveland 4V, 4 speed Top Loader gearbox and factory 9" diff, this GT is just the way Ford built it in 1971. While it has been driven it has also been beautifully maintained and still features the original Bakerlite fan shroud, Autolite Carby, Shaker flap, battery terminals etc.
The interior is spectacular in day one condition with original SVO ordered White hoodlining, original carpets, perfect black trim and door cards, crash pad and dash. As you would expect, the car comes with the original log books, owners manuals, both sets of original keys with dealer keyring tabs and has covered a genuine 96,359 miles from new. It even has the original dealer sticker still fitted to the rear window glass. Comes with an ACCHS verification letter stating that the car is one of one as ordered from Ford and full three owner history from new.
The car still retains its original 351 4V Cleveland V8, top loader 4 speed gearbox and 9" diff. The car retains mostly original paint apart from a touch up to the engine bay due to a battery explosion early on in it's life, original boot with mint boot mat, original paint in the door jambs and all it's original factory markings including engine bay paint marks, untouched factory stampings and never removed compliance plate.
The underside of the car features factory overspray and correct tailshaft markings as well as the original green shock absorbers. Open the boot and you have the original rubber boot mat in perfect condition, an Aquajet spare and original tools and jack bag.
This is a precious survivor XY GT ready for the most pedantic GT collector. Without doubt one of the best XY GT Falcons we have come across.
