How rare is this, a K-code burger with the lot! Factory K-code XY Fairmont GS in Teal Glow running the all matching numbers 351 Cleveland D block motor with added 4V dot heads, combined with a factory top loader 4 speed manual gearbox and 9" LSD diff. And if that's not a rare enough combo - how about the factory WHITE trim. We don't think you've seen too many XY Fairmonts like this one. In fact this is a one off order very special K Code Fairmont. Obviously ordered by someone who wanted the power of the big 351, the sportiness of the top loader gearbox and the GS Rally Pack, and had the exquisite good taste to choose this stunning colour combo.
In the long term ownership of the current owner for over 40 years (Yes since 1979), this GS Fairmont has been upgraded to a GT Replica with GT shaker, GT striping, 5 slot rims and was treated to a full restoration by it's current owner in 2007. The car was bare metaled and repainted again in stunning factory acrylic Teal Glow. New reflective orange GT stripes were placed down her flanks. The white interior was treated to a freshen up including a re-trim to the seats, restoration of the gauges and refinishing of the original GS steering wheel.
The matching numbers 351 Cleveland has been rebuilt with a mild cam, 4V heads, 650 vac sec Demon carby, Edelbrock 4V Performer manifold, electronic ignition and Pacemaker extractors through to a new standard GT exhaust. The top loader and 3.0:1 9 inch diff have been reconditioned. Brakes, steering, suspension and wiring loom have also been rebuilt. And the result, we think you'll agree, is one smart looking unit. You get the drift, this is one very special 'special order' XY.
The only dilemma for the new owner is what to do with this car!?! Leave it as a tough GT Replica with K code credentials under the skin; or perhaps put it back to the original GS Fairmont specifications. Either way, you've got a winner! Vehicles offered for sale through AMCS are the responsibility of the Owner / Seller. AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.
When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.
The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. The Buyer understands there is no warranty or guarantee offered by either the Seller or AMCS.
If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.
If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.
AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
