In spectacular Dark Moss Green, this GTA Mustang was originally ordered July 7th, 1967 by the Ford Motor Company as a Sales Vehicle for their Los Angeles, California sales district. It was ordered with rare factory bench seat, Air Conditioning, power steering, front disc brakes, GT stripes, driving lamps, special handling package, low restriction dual exhausts with chrome quad tips and a 3 speed Cruise-O-Matic transmission.
According to the Marti report, of the 472,209 Mustangs built in 1967, this is one of only 44,821 convertibles, one of only 2,341 with the GT Equipment Group option, one of 71 with this exact paint and trim codes and ONE of ONE with the exact options.
The GTA was imported to Australia around 1969 and professionally converted to RHD. In 1993, famous entertainer Ms. KYLIE MINOGUE and her Dad Ron Minogue purchased the Mustang and undertook a six year concours restoration of the car. He did enter and win a few car shows and subsequently sold the car through Shannons in 2000 to the National Sales Manager at BMW Australia. He kept the car for 12 months before being transferred back to Germany at which time the Mustang was sold to Kefford Corporation a Victorian public transport company. In 2009 it was sold to Mt. Gambier and used for the then owners daughters' wedding and then sold to Ken Gazzard of Carlin and Gazzard a well known Mercedes dealer in the area and joined other exotics in his personal car collection. In October 2015, the current owner purchased the car and spent a great deal of time further improving the Mustang resultin in the GTA taking out silver at the National Concours in March 2016. Since then it has been used regularly including formals, weddings and has been entered in many car shows and events including the most recent being the 2023 QLD State Mustang Concours.
The GTA features the all matching numbers 289 4v, 225 BHP motor (A Code) and features all the factory specified options including Cruise-O-Matic T-Bar auto, GT Equipment Group, A/C, P/S, power white roof, bench seat and low restriction exhaust. As part of the GT package the GTA is fitted with Exterior Décor Group which includes the GT pop open fuel cap, louvered hood with turn indicators built in plus wheel, rear deck and quarter panel mouldings. The GT Equipment Group option includes power disc brakes, low restriction exhaust, driving /fog lamps, special handling package (stiffer springs, larger shock absorbers all round plus a heavy-duty front sway bar), stripes and badging.
The GTA is supplied with the Kevin Marti report listing the vehicle as it was sold - one of one, a 2-page history of the vehicle and a selection of photos of all major works conducted whilst in the current custodianship.
And the award list won by this special Mustang speak volumes for the quality of the car. Vehicles offered for sale through AMCS are the responsibility of the Owner / Seller. AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.
When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.
The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. The Buyer understands there is no warranty or guarantee offered by either the Seller or AMCS.
If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.
If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.
AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
