1967 Ford Falcon XR Panel Van …
Timewarp 1967 XR Falcon Panelvan presented as a Nuford, Lakemba, NSW service, parts and accessories delivery van. In amazing maintained condition, this is truly an unique opportunity for the Ford collector to acquire a piece of Australian motoring history. For sale from our Sydney Showroom.
The XR Falcon series was introduced in September 1966 and promoted as the "Mustang-bred Falcon". It was the first Australian Falcon to be offered with a V8 engine, the 200 bhp (150 kW), 289 cui Windsor unit.
The XR was offered in 10 different models: Falcon, Falcon 500, and Fairmont sedans and wagons, Falcon and Falcon 500 utilities, the Falcon Van and of course the grand daddy XR GT.
Nuford Motors in Lakemba was a well known dealership in the 60s and 70s and was also involved in motor racing fielding the CIG True Blue XW GTHO Phase 2 '66E' driven by Bill Ford which finished 12th at Bathurst in 1970. The dealership is also credited with the sale of four XY GTHO Phase 3s and three RPO 83 XA GT Falcon Hardtops. In addition to selling cars, the supply of spare parts to panel shops and mechanical workshops was a growing business and Nuford allocated several Falcon Panelvans to carry out this work.
Created as a tribute Nuford Panelvan by a well known Sydney based Ford enthusiasts, this Beige Mist with Medium Blue trim XR Falcon was in amazing rust free maintain survivor condition when acquired by the owner. He then had the XR painted professionally by a sign writer with the Nuford, FOMOCO and service, parts and accessories wording, creating a very unique panelvan. Appearing at the recent Falcon GT Nationals at Bathurst, the car was a major draw card and can be used as either a terrific company promo vehicle or as something unique to set your Ford car collection apart from any others.
The XR runs a healthy 250 cui 6 cylinder engine with a 4 speed Borg Warner gearbox and is mechanically strong and reliable. The car is also fitted with period correct power steering and a dual exhaust system.
The interior is presented with original Medium Blue trim, immaculate crash pad and door cards with all gauges in working order. The XR has been modified with a floor shift 4 speed manual shifter and an after market CD/radio.
The XR is riding on 14" steel rims with GS hubcaps and white wall tyres.
