1966 Ford Mustang Luxury Hardtop ... (SOLD)

More than $100,000 has been lavished on this amazing '66 Mustang coupe. A rare 65B Luxury Deluxe (Pony Trim) optioned car, now fully engineered and upgraded to be driven and enjoyed. This car had a rotisserie nut and bolt resto 15 years ago, and is still in excellent condition with 4,445 miles covered since completion.

The current enthusiast owner treated this Mustang to a full bare metal re-spray using PPG Paint, Including DP40 base primer, Hi-Fill secondary primer and clear over base of the original Signalflare Red. This was a very good car with almost no rust, except for a small amount in the LHR floor pan that was replaced.

The car is running a strong 450hp 347ci Windsor stroker with Scat crank kit, H-Beam rods, Keith Black Silv-o-lite pistons, Dart heads, Crane solid cam, Yella Terra roller rockers and Ford Motorsport rocker covers.

Also fitted with a Hi-Torque starter motor and 140 amp Alternator, 750 Holley carby, new Scorcher ignition including hand made leads to the correct length and a Aluminium radiator by Race Radiators. Hand made HPC coated headers through to a custom dual exhaust.

Power is delivered to the wheels via a beefed up C4 3 speed auto with bigger servos, carbon friction plates and 2900 Dominator stall converter, then through to a shortened 9" XB GT rear disc LSD diff, including all new internals and new billet axles. The rear leaf springs have been rebuilt by Pedders, Dandenong to similar spec as a GTHO that competes in Targa Tassie to stop axle tramp.

The Mustang features a mini tubbed rear end to accommodate 10" wide Bonspeed wheels and along with a new 60 litre aluminium fuel tank are fully engineered with Engineer's Certificate provided.

Braking is via a BA Falcon front disc kit from Hoppers Stoppers, including ADR compliant brake booster and master cylinder.

The original Pony Interior has been retrimmed including new hood lining, carpet and seat belts. Also features all new wiring, Autometer gauges, new glass, an Alpine stereo and new lights, bumper bars and badges.
