Now for sale is this Dick Johnson Limited Edition Ford Mustang by Herrod Performance, Build No. 3 of only 30 made, a rare MANUAL version and in brand new condition with only 7,206 kms from new. In our Sydney Showroom for your inspection.

The hottest limited edition Mustang yet seen on our shores, the Dick Johnson Mustang is the zenith of over a decade of dreaming by the five-times Australian touring car champion who in collaboration with esteemed Herrod Performance pushed the go button early in 2019.

Revealed in 2019 and completed by early 2020 the Dick Johnson Limited Edition Mustangs were an instant and complete sell out.

With only 30 cars produced the DJ Mustangs rewrote the rules for homegrown Aussie muscle cars, with Herrod Motorsport taking charge to hand build to the highest standard to wear Dick Johnsons name and personal signature on every car. Showing 635kW (851hp) on the engine dyno and 541kW @ 7000rpm at the rear wheels these have truly done Dick proud.

The 30 cars produced were either black or white, believed to be 22 autos and only 8 manuals, all starting life as a Mustang GT with Magneride suspension.

Hundreds of special components were used to convert the cars, from a high-capacity customised 3L Whipple supercharger and carbon-fibre tail-shaft down to the ‘puddle’ lamp under the doors which is switched from a picture of a pony to the Dick Johnson logo.

Many parts are also monogrammed with the car’s individual build and VIN numbers engraved into the metal, including the pistons and conrods.

On each cylinder head is an etching of Dick Johnson’s logo, the build number and VIN. The con-rods also have the logo on the side, while slightly more visible in the engine bay is the graphic engraved into the top of the supercharger.

Its sump, oil pump, billet crank, oil cooler, and inter-cooler are also custom, and most of these parts feature the VIN and build number too.
Even the service stickers in the engine bay, including a special one for the oil cap, are tailored items.

The cars have a range of visual and performance upgrades to the bodywork, from front ’flicks’ to the carbon-fibre rear wing, with a full-custom leather interior, and optional half roll cage.

Specified are 20-inch alloy wheels with 275/35 front and 305/30 rear Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres, and special Brembo brakes from the Mustang GT350R with 15.5-inch cross-drilled front rotors with directional and 14.9-inch cross-drilled rear rotors.

Some quotes by Dick Johnson during the journey of formation:

“I promise that there is no other Mustang on the road quite like this one.”

“It has been produced with the blessing of Ford Australia but it is very much a one-off project for us.”

“Rob Herrod and I talked for many years about a new collaboration, but it took 12 months to actually make it happen. A lot of things had to line up to get it done".

“It is a very different beast. It is such a tailored and bespoke car it has seen buyers who perhaps otherwise wouldn’t buy a Mustang,” Rob Herrod reports.

Dick has the final say “This is a one-off project. The first and the last. We believe it’s the king of the hill for Mustang and we’re happy to leave it that way.”

Not much more needs to be said. Available for inspection in our Sydney Showroom. We will gladly arrange a video inspection of the car using WhatsApp, and of course there is no issue with door to door freight delivery anywhere in Australia or New Zealand. (Ref. 6411)
