Now for sale this well preserved '79 HZ Holden Statesman DeVille. In our Sydney Showroom for your inspection.

Rivalling Ford's Fairlane for a share of the domestic luxury car market, the Holden Statesman proved to be a great success for GMH. Having a Statesman parked in the driveway was a real status symbol back in the 1970s. And let's not to forget that the extended wheelbase afforded plenty of extra legroom for rear seat passengers.

The HZ-model was introduced with a minor cosmetic facelift and various improvements including a reshaped (round) steering wheel and multi-function stalk for cabin controls along with a significant engineering upgrade. Along with the rest of the GM-H range, the HZ-model Stateman saw the adoption of its famous Radial Tuned Suspension, giving it significantly better handling without sacrificing ride quality. Four-wheel disc brakes were now also fitted to all Statesman models. With three Statesman models in the HZ range - DeVille, SL/E and Caprice there was plenty to like when it came to this big Aussie luxury cruiser.

For sale is this stunning two owner totally unrestored survivor 1979 Holden HZ Statesman DeVille presented in the all original Palais white paintwork and immaculate red velour trim.

Running the matching numbers 308 V8 engine mated to the bullet proof Turbo 400 automatic gearbox, this Statesman comes with its original log books documenting the original 66,976 klms from new and owners manuals. According to the log books, the car was purchased by a Mr. Stanley Cox from Dwyers Wollongong, NSW on the 1st August, 1979.

The DeVille is in impeccable condition throughout. The car show no rust or damage and the paint presents extremely well for its age. The interior can only be described as "As new". The front seats have been covered by lambs wool covers since new (removed only now to detail the car) and are unfaded and show nil wear, marks or stains. The steering wheel and dash are in perfect condition and all gauges work as they should. The power steering and power windows work perfectly and while the air conditioning works it probably requires regassing. The back seat looks like it has never been used. All seat belts are in beautiful condition as well. Carpets are also unfaded and in perfect original showroom condition.

The DeVille has been recently fully serviced and the brakes and suspension are in current roadworthy condition. The car comes with full NSW registration until April, 2023.

This DeVille has lived all it's life in NSW and is definitely a rare and appreciating asset that can be cruised in style for decades to come. Many Australians have fond memories of the HQ-HZ Statesmans and these classic 1970s luxury sedans have a strong following today and represent the pinnacle of Australian luxury motoring for the day.
