For sale is a very rare commodity these days. A concours restored totally original and unmolested all matching numbers and log booked 1975 LH SL/R Torana in Absinth Yellow with Black Herringbone cloth trim. For sale from Auckland, New Zealand.

This Absinth Yellow Torana SL/R was originally sold through Dustings Holden in Burwood, Victoria on April 2nd, 1975.

Purchased by the current Torana enthusiast in 2005, the SL/R was stored until 2014 when the owner moved from Australia to New Zealand. When purchased, the SL/R had never been modified in any way, just driven, clocking more than 300,000 Klms in its life before the restoration began. It has now covered just 215 Klms since the restoration.

The restoration started with a complete strip down, till not a nut or bolt remained.  Then the SL/R was taken back to bare metal with all the mechanicals striped down, sandblasted restored and painted with new parts installed where possible.

Mechanically the matching numbers 253 4.2 Litre V8 engine has been professionally overhauled with original parts including the gearbox with a new clutch, thrust bearing and pressure plate. The diff was also professionally overhauled with new axle bearings and seals. The whole braking system is new as is the suspension. In fact, everything has been fully restored or replaced as has all the wiring looms, door Locks, boot and ignition locks etc.

The interior has also been fully retrimmed with all-new original black interior with the original Herringbone Cloth inserts and new seat belts. Hood lining and sun visors have also been replaced with the under-dash ventilation system being restored with new bearings in the steering column and of course a new steering wheel.

The restoration was done to ensure that the Torana is as close as possible to how it left the factory. Even the bonnet springs and tail shaft have been colour coded to the original colour.

This has been a labour of love with no expense spared and no detail left unsorted to make this one of the best L32 Toranas available today.

Sold with the Original Owners Hand Book and Original Owners Log Books and a “Vintage & Classic Car Club of NZ” (known as the VCC) Certificate of Authenticity. “New Zealand Warrant of Fitness” plus all Holden documentation and two sets of GMH keys.

For sale from Auckland, New Zealand. Full NZ rego until 18-4-2024. We can assist with the import of this special Torana back to Australia if required. (Ref. 6332)

And if you like we will gladly arrange a video inspection/road test of the car using WhatsApp and of course there is no issue with door to door freight delivery anywhere in Australia or New Zealand.
