Here is another one straight out of the box! A totally unrestored SURVIVOR class XA Fairmont GS Hardtop 351 K-Code V8 in Yellow Glow with W2 White with Black cloth insert trim. You are not going to believe the condition, originality and documentation that comes with this stunning Fairmont Hardtop. For sale from our Sydney Showroom. As they say, "They're only original once" and this one literally takes the cake!
It's 1973 all over again. Gough Whitlam is our newly minted PM, Queen Elizabeth II opens the Sydney Opera House, people over 18 can now vote, the $50 note is introduced and Aussies can now place their bets at our first legal casino in Wrest Point, Hobart. It's also the year that one happy camper walks confidently into Jack Brabham Ford at Liverpool in Sydney's West and plonks down his hard earned for his dream Ford. A Yellow Glow XA Fairmont GS Hardtop optioned with the 351 Cleveland V8, floor shift T-Bar automatic, 9" Limited Slip Diff, Dual Exhaust, Sports Handling Suspension and Heavy Duty Battery. And also as noted on the Ford Build Sheet, "Please Delete the Side Stripes".
Delivered on the 22nd of May, 1973 it is blindingly evident that this Fairmont Hardtop has spent a charmed life in suburban Sydney. And now, in its 50th year, this Fairmont treasure is presented for sale. With only 58,813 miles on the clock, the Fairmont comes with the original log books, owners manual, Ford Production Line Build Sheet, a service and registration paperwork folder, two sets of keys and the original NSW issued number plates.
The paint is 90% factory measuring just 50-60 microns over most of the Hardtop. Proof that this is factory day one paint. The engine bay is unrestored with maintenance upgrades only including the addition of a 780 cfm Holley carby, a new fuel pump, coil and leads plus a set of extractors. The genuine FOMOCO radiator and cap, master cylinder, all clamps, hoses, stickers, paint dabs, factory dual horns etc. are still in their rightful place. And the Fairmont still features all the original glass including the front windscreen!
The interior reflects the log booked 58,813 miles which equates to just 1,176 miles for each of its 50 years on the road. Take a look around the interior. The W2 White with Black cloth insert trim is in mint condition and the door cards, dash, carpets, rim blow GS steering wheel and window winders are in perfect condition. Even the sun visors and hood lining are in immaculate condition.
Open the boot and the original vinyl boot mat is in place as are the factory tools and the spare wheel. The Hardtop comes with a set of four genuine 12 slot rims with brand new red walled Aqua Tread tyres and 5 Jelly Bean mags shod in Polyglas F70-14 tyres. The undercarriage is in perfect condition and features the original green shock absorbers. An aftermarket tow bar and sway bar have been added to the car.
With only three owners, this special low mileage SURVIVOR Fairmont Hardtop is definitely a ONE OFF Ford build and a dream come true for the Ford and Falcon Hardtop collector. Going Ford, is the going thing!
