1971 XY Falcon GTHO Phase III - Surfer Orange
The ULTIMATE Aussie Muscle Car in the BEST colour combo at a fraction of the cost of a "day one" XY GT-HO Phase 3. Now for sale from our Sydney Showroom.
According to the 1971 Ford Falcon XY GTHO Phase 3 Register, Build No. 80 of the 300 GTHOs built was one of the 200 Bathurst Homologation Units and was specially ordered by John Hile Ford of Ryde, NSW. As a Bathurst Homologation Special it was built with the High Output 4V 380 bhp Cleveland and 4 speed manual with 31-spline wide ratio Toploader and 3.25 Daytona LSD nodular iron 9".
As was common practice back in the day, this very special one of three built GTHOs was reshelled into another body. We don't know the reason. Perhaps it was damaged while being driven too enthusiastically. However, luckily all the original Phase 3 GTHOs items from the original car were transplanted at the time.
Accordingly, everything from the driveline to the interior and wheels was transferred to the new body shell.
Here you have a rare opportunity to acquire a "matching numbers" Phase 3 in a rare and desirable colour combo with all the correct and genuine original Phase 3 gear.
You've got the genuine day one matching numbers H code 351 HO 4V Cleveland, 4 speed long shaft top loader, 31 spline 9" diff, genuine clutch master cylinder, Rev limiter, shaker, 55 AMP alternator, HO proportioning valve, vacuum tank, sway bars etc.
The whole interior is original, including genuine black trim, original dash, steering wheel, gauges, crash pad, everything.
The undercarriage features all HO items from the HO larger fuel lines, rear sway bars, dual exhaust hangers, factory markings, HO tailshaft, HO diff with factory 31 spline axles. You've even got factory look overspray on the floor pan.
In the boot is the correct 36 gallon fuel tank, fuel breather tube and the correct spare wheel bracket for the big tank.
And most importantly the compliance plate and shocker tower stampings identify the XY as a Phase 3 GTHO.
Dare we say, this might just be the most practical Phase 3 to drive and enjoy. Because you have a plated Phase 3, one of only 300 built and recorded by Ford, with all the original running gear at a 50% discount?
Come and check out this absolutely killer Phase 3 at our Sydney Showroom. (Ref. 6223)
And if you like, we will gladly arrange a video inspection/road test of the car using WhatsApp and of course there is no issue with door to door transport anywhere in Australia or New Zealand.
