One of the last of the XY model to roll down the assembly line, this November build Fairmont was built with the 302 V8 Windsor V8 and column automatic in Jewel Green Metallic with Parchment trim. During the restoration, the owner has fitted the optional Hawaiian cloth trim inserts which really set this car apart. Delivered originally through Cam Dawson Ford in Geelong, VIC to a Mr. Fred S. Kewley of Highton, Vic on the 25th of February, 1972 the Fairmont comes with the original dealer folder, original sales invoice, log books, owners manuals, service booklet and customer card, pre delivery form, registration paperwork, new car brochure, two sets of keys and a huge file of service receipts for this very well loved and cared for Fairmont. The documentation that comes with this Fairmont is quite extraordinary and really sets this car apart for all others making this a very unique collector Ford.
The original owner transferred the car to his son Graham Kewley in February, 1986 and in 2010 the Fairmont was purchased by a Priest in Redfern, NSW as his weekend driver. Sold again to the third owner in 2014, the Fairmont was then bare metal restored. All parts that were taken off the car were restored and refitted to the car. All glass is original and inscripted with the VIN number. The interior was retrimmed by Reid a well known concours trimmer in Melbourne and door cards were supplied by Cools Trim in Sydney with a sensational combo of the original Parchment trim with the Hawaiian cloth inserts. Door cards are new with original arm rests used. Carpet, hood lining are also new and the original gauges were recalibrated. The steering wheel was set to Rim Blow in New Zealand and restored and refitted to the car. The restoration included rebuilding the heater box, the dash is original as is the Superfringe radio which works perfectly. Seat belts are all new with five belts supplied. Many parts were procured or restored from GT Ford Performance, Grand Tourer Restorations and also The GT Shop with receipts for everything purchased.
Making carefully use of everything that came originally with the car, the chrome and stainless were restored and repolished by Concours Moulding Repairs in Sydney
Mechanically the Fairmont runs the matching numbers 302 Windsor V8 rebuilt in 2008 and dyno tuned by BK Race Engine in Sydney. The transmission and diff have also been rebuilt and the tail shaft balanced. All suspension, steering box and braking systems have been restored and the Fairmont drives like new. The original fuel tank was restored and refitted and a new single exhaust system fitted. There are receipts for all this work. The car still features the original restored exhaust manifold and radiator fan shroud.
The original 14" steel rims have been completely refurbished and powder coated in black. The original Fairmont hubcaps were meticulously restored and are presented in immaculate condition. The car rides on red wall Michelin tyres. In the boot is a new boot matt, factory tools and bag and spare.
This stunning Fairmont has covered 4,577 miles since the restoration and is now ready for the next care taker to enjoy this very special car.

Vehicles offered for sale through AMCS are the responsibility of the Owner / Seller. AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.
When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.
The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. The Buyer understands there is no warranty or guarantee offered by either the Seller or AMCS.
If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.
If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.
AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
