1971 Chrysler VH Valiant Charger E37 -
Now for sale, this magnificent 1971 VH E37 Charger UNRESTORED SURVIVOR, located in Perth, WA.
Wheels magazine's Car of the Year and the star of the "Hey Charger" TV commercial the VH Valiant Charger was widely acclaimed by the motoring press and the motoring public as "...the most handsome car Chrysler has ever produced, and probably the best looking car ever produced by an Australian manufacturer.
While the E38 was the Charger equivalent of the XY GT-HO, the E37 Valiant Charger was the XY GT equivalent. Still packing those wonderful triple side draught Weber carburettors on top of the 265 Hemi straight six and producing 248 BHP, the E37 was slightly de-tuned and more at home on the road when compared with the E38 Charger which was homologated for the race track.
For sale is a TOTALLY UNRESTORED SURVIVOR 1971 VH E37 R/T Charger in Vitamin C. This unbelievably good survivor E37 was originally sold by Ferguson's of Hurstville and delivered to a Mr. Frank Riley of Mortdale, NSW on the 15th of June 1972. The E37 has covered a genuine 65,332 miles in its 51 years on the road and comes with the original owners log books, manuals and two sets of original keys. Last registered in 1984, the Charger has been preserved since then by two serious Charger collectors. The current owner purchased the car from Shell Harbour, NSW in 2006 and has enjoyed it in his substantial Charger collection.
Mechanically, the E37 is running the all matching numbers 265 with date correct triple Webers. The engine has never been rebuilt only maintained and is stock factory spec rated at 248 BHP. The only modifications made to this special survivor are for better drivability and include the fitment of a MSD ignition, brake booster, a full stainless exhaust system and the original 3 speed manual has been replaced with an D20 4 speed manual gearbox. A 3 speed manual Borg Warner gearbox comes with the car.
The Charger is still wearing the factory Vitamin C acrylic paint which is in excellent condition and all stickers are day one showing just how well looked after this accident free Charger really is. All chrome and glass including the front windscreen are original as well. Open the doors and the story is the same on the inside with the original crash pad, dash and gauges, steering wheel, seat trim and door cards as well as the carpet and hood lining all still in their rightful place.
The Charger is riding on the W35 14x7" alloy rims with Pirelli 225/65R14 tyres.
This unrestored maintained Valiant Charger E37 is located in Perth, WA for your private inspection. (Ref. 6326)
