The Hunter Valley Torana Club and Todd Martin put on a top night to celebrate Harry Firth's 90th birthday. And Harry Firth certainly entertained all 300 or so guests with his amazing life of passion for cars, racing and pretty much everything else.
Joining the members of the Hunter Valley Torana Club and in support of the Ronald McDonald House, special guests included Bev Brock, Peter Champion, Fred and Christine Gibson, Max Stahl, Des West, Bruce McPhee, Bob Morris, Paul Dumbrell, Dave McLean, Max Aubert, Jim Hunter, Ned and Bruce Nowacki, Graham Moore and Norm Thoroughgood.
Everyone was thoroughly entertained by Harry's stories of his amazing life. From the Second World War, his time spent in the Middle East, his working in and around motorcyles and motor cars. To his entering and winning the Armstrong 500 4 times as a driver, the development of the XR GT Falcon, LC and LJ Torana, L34 and A9X Toranas and the management of the HDT Dealer Team from 1969 to 1977.
His massive impact on our motor industry has surely earned him the title of the Father of the Aussie Muscle car.
A huge congrats to the Torana Club of the Hunter Valley for putting on a most enjoyable and amazing weekend event!
