2009 HSV VE Maloo R8 Ute
For sale is this 2009 HSV VE Maloo R8 Ute in Phantom running the naturally aspirated 6.2-litre LS3 V8 and six-speed manual transmission. Located in Belmore, NSW.
HSV can be credited with inventing the performance ute category with the original VG Maloo in 1990. Since then, performance, handling and safety have been upgraded and the HSV Maloo R8 is a big jump forward in every way with 317 kW and 550 Nm of naturally aspirated power, delivered through the fun box 6 speed manual gearbox. Fire up the 6.2-litre LS3 Generation 4 V8 and the quad exhaust pipes make you well aware that this isn’t you’re average vee-eight.
About as far from a delivery vehicle or work ute as possible (although you could convince the "boss" that this is what you're buying it for) the HSV Maloo R8 is all about fun. With a dose of sophistication delivering refinements on the E Series that include Electronic Stability Control, five-star ANCAP rating and linear control suspension. There's also ultra-powerful braking to contain the incredible power of the Maloo with 365mm slotted rotors and 4-pot stoppers up front, and similarly sized 350mm 4-pots down the back. Inside, there are four airbags, performance seats, sports gauges, cruise control, automatic climate control and five-speaker, six-CD audio.
With just two owners from new and 76,175 Klms on the clock with log books, HSV Compendium and service history, this unmarked example is a rare find. The exterior is complemented by the two iconic speedster-like sails behind the rear window and the various aerodynamic aids around the car, which are as much about the styling as they are about functionality. The current owner has swapped the original HSV rims for wider aftermarket alloy wheels and low profile 245 35ZR 20" front and 275 30ZR 20" rear rubber.
The interior is totally original in good condition with only minor wear to the driver's seat bolster. Air conditioning is ice cold and the power windows, HSV gauges and factory stereo are all in excellent working condition. The stubby short-throw shifter is a treat to use too with what is a relatively light clutch, making for fast shifts.
The remote-locking hard tonneau cover keeps all your recreational gear safe and has the added benefit of being alarmed.
Located in Belmore, NSW for your inspection. (Ref. 5995)
