Its fair to say that Aussie motoring fans lost their biscuit when Holden pulled the covers off the top-secret Commodore Coupe concept back in 1998. It was a moment that led to the return of one of the most iconic names in our automotive history - The Holden Monaro.
But when Holden Special Vehicles – the hot rod arm of Holden – released its high-performance variants in 2001, there wasn’t a Monaro badge to be seen. Due to trademark conflicts between the two entities, the HSV two-doors were referred to as HSV Coupes, available in either GTO or GTS spec.
The naming issue didn’t blunt their popularity. The original Aussie muscle cars of the 1960s and 70s were still fresh in car enthusiasts minds and now older and wealthier, the buyers wanted a fast, brightly-coloured V8 machine of their own.
Now, 20 years since they hit the car scene, Aussie Muscle Car Enthusiasts are paying close attention to low mileage examples of these special HSV Coupes.
For sale is a genuine one owner 2006 VZ HSV GTO Coupe with only 19,686 KILOMETRES FROM NEW! In Phantom Black with Black leather trim, Build No. 955 features the factory 6.0 litre LS2 V8 and 4 speed auto transmission in immaculate condition with full service history, plus all the original books and HSV documentation and 2 sets of keys. It is one of the last HSV GTO Coupes made.
This GTO features factory original paint with nil accident damage. The GTO Coupe is all original except for a 224/230 race cam and 3" dual stainless exhaust all the way through from the ceramic extractors to the tips. All engine and pipe work was done by HSV. The Coupe also features a Growler Cold Air Induction system and the result is a super strong 320 RWKw and 725 Nm of torque.
The GTO is supplied with the HSV numbered Certificate of authenticity, the HSV Compendiums, log books and HSV manuals, touch up paint and the delivery documentation from Zupps HSV from Mt. Gravatt in Brisbane, QLD.
In the boot is the original unused spare tyre and unused fire extinguisher. The car is riding on the original factory Yokahama Advan Sport 245x35x19 tyres and perfect unmarked factory alloy wheels.

Vehicles offered for sale through AMCS are the responsibility of the Owner / Seller. AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.
When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.
The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. The Buyer understands there is no warranty or guarantee offered by either the Seller or AMCS.
If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.
If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.
AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
