For sale one of Peter Brock's most revered creations. The all conquering 1985 VK SS Group A Commodore. Build no. 265/500 is presented for sale in excellent condition throughout with 82,132 Kilometres on the clock. For sale from our Sydney Showroom.

The VK Group A Commodore. Perhaps the most collectable of Brock's HDT Commodores. With a body by Holden and a soul thanks to one Mr. Peter Brock. Running the all matching numbers unmodified 304 cubic inch 4.9 litre LV2 V8. You know the one. Crammed full of the good gear by HDT including roller rockers, a specific cam grind and various mods to the block to make it go the distance in endurance racing. Throw in extractors and a cold-air intake and you were looking at 196kW at about 5200rpm. This wonderful engine was mated to the tried and tested 4 speed M21 gearbox.

HDT added more goodies to their Group A creation including a deep front spoiler, boot lid spoiler, 16x7 Aero alloy wheels and a bunch of interior changes including Scheel front seats, Momo steering wheel and gear-knob, a basic stereo and of course the instantly recognisable Formula Blue paint.

Raw and purposeful, the Blue Meanie is an absolute beast. The idle is about as lumpy as an XU1 Torana and the whole car feels like its ready to have a go at anything that gets in its way. And that's just warming the thing up in your driveway.

Let it off the leash and the Group A SS will wind up to about 3000rpm, and right at that point a fair chunk of hell breaks loose as the 304 gets up on its camshaft and exhaust. And oh what a beautiful sound that makes!

You get the drift by now.

For sale is Brock Group A Build No. 265. Purchased by the current owner in 2007 through HDT Special Vehicles in Revesby, NSW, the car has covered a genuine 82,132 kilometres from new and comes with the owners manual and HDT verification paperwork. Originally sold by Eagers Holden in Brisbane, QLD the car is fitted with the original stereo and factory power steering.

The car is in perfect mechanical condition with no modifications and has always been professionally maintained. The owner has recently fitted a new exhaust system, extractors, brake lines, replaced the fuel sender, pump and fuel lines, fitted a new radiator, rebuilt the gearbox and the Rochester carby and fitted new bushes to the suspension. All this work was completed by Mr. HDT in Dubbo, NSW with receipts for the work carried out.

The interior is mostly original with only a retrim to the two front seats retrimmed in NOS materials and new carpet both installed around 2001. Door cards, hood lining, steering wheel, are all original and all gauges work perfectly. Build No. 265 is fitted with a full set of 5 HDT Aero Directional rims with excellent Yokahama tyres.

The current owner bought the car 15 years ago in 2007 and has been a member of the NSW HDT club. He has used the car on club runs, show and shines and as one of 5 VK Group A Commodores in his own wedding ceremony.
