Now available for sale is one of the most iconic and collectible Brock Commodores ever built – the 1985 HDT VK SS Group A, better known as the Blue Meanie. This is Build No. 64, an exceptionally rare survivor in totally original and unrestored condition, with a mere 11,820 kilometres since new.

To meet Group A racing rules, 500 VK Group A SS models were built, featuring a de-stroked 304ci (4.9L) V8 to allow weight savings on track. HDT packed the engines with serious kit — roller rockers, a race-spec cam, L34 rods, double-row timing chain, and a modified manifold — all good for 196kW at 5200rpm. HDT extractors and a cold-air intake sealed the deal. Build No. 64 remains day-one original. Inside, Group As got Scheel front seats, Momo wheel and gear knob, a basic stereo, and of course, that unmistakable Formula Blue paint. Raw and purposeful, the Blue Meanie is a beast. It idles like an XU1 Torana, angry and impatient. But past 3000rpm, the 304 comes alive with a ferocious roar — and it’s all on.

Build No. 64, Purchased new at Dwyers P/L in Wollongong NSW in June 1985 a  new car salesman at the time convinced his father to purchase the Iconic Group A and struck a deal with Peter Dwyer (Dealer Principle) on one of the three VK Group A's allocated to the dealership. was sold some years later due to lack off use for $28,000 with only 2,800km.

In perfect mechanical condition and professionally maintained from day one it comes with original log books, HDT verification, and presents as a super low-mileage survivor, with consistent low and original paint micrometer readings to prove it.

The interior remains completely original — from the trim, carpets, and hood lining to the working factory radio — all in excellent condition. Still fitted with its original HDT mud flaps, it rides on a full set of five factory HDT Aero directional wheels wrapped in modern Bridgestone tyres. Also included is a complete set of genuine day-one tyres.

In the boot, everything is untouched and as-delivered, featuring the original spare wheel fitted with a day-one Bridgestone Potenza, along with the original jack bag and tools.
