1980 Brock VC HDT Commodore #492 (SOLD)

How nice is this! Here we have a very solid, all correct VC Brock Commodore. The Brock that started it all and the brain child of a young Peter Brock - the legendary Holden Dealer Team VC Brock Commodore. In Firethorn Red with immaculate all original Carmine Red trim.

Build no. 492 features the all matching numbers Brock enhanced stock 5.0 litre, L31 V8 and 3 speed T-350 auto gearbox. The car comes with its original log books, owners manual, receipt file and some South Australian HDT club participation documents. The car started life as the Dealer Principal's car from Peter Page Holden in Elizabeth, South Australia and is currently showing a genuine 214,203 well cared for kilometres on the odometer.

Everything works including the factory air conditioning and power windows, and the important uniquely numbered MOMO steering wheel is there with the correct HDT Special Vehicle horn button. The car drives beautifully and really underlines the level of sophistication that Brock built into these first HDT Commodores.

The Firethorn paint is in good condition for its age and shows a nil accident damage history. The Carmine red interior trim is all original and looks to have been well protected from the sun. As well as the numbered steering wheel the original Eurovox radio, factory A/C, power windows and power aerial are all in place.

The car retains its original 5 Irmscher wheels, air cleaner with cold air induction system which drew air from behind the passenger side headlight, chrome air cleaner lid and rocker covers, as well as gas flowed cylinder heads and port matched inlet manifold.

Other custom features are the HDT footrest, and some suspension work including the Bilstein shock absorbers designed to make the cars handle as well as they went. All compliance plates including the chassis number on the radiator support are still in place.
