Built by Ron Hodgson Racing. First CAMS Log book issued 25/7/1977; N3898. First raced at Amaroo 13/8/77. Later sponsored by JAGPARTS and raced in BTCC Group 1 specs for 1980 Bathurst 1000. Original logbook shows car was a regular competitor at Sandown, Calder, Winton, AIR, Symons Plains, and Oran Park, Hang Ten 500, Bathurst 1000, and Semperit Series. Historic Group C Log book issued in 2004 together with Certificate of Description. Matching numbers fresh 16 valve 1998cc engine and fresh close ratio overdrive 5 speed gearbox. Loads of spares. Includes double sided A Frame display board and bonnet stand. Regular Class winner. Top 10 consistent finisher. Original CAMS Log Book will be provided together with Historic Log Book and CoD. First race Amaroo 13/8/77.

Original owner: Ralph Radburn.

Second owner: Gerald Kay 27/6/78.

Between 1988 and 1996 Clint Gipperich/P. Davis.

Historic Log Book issued: 8/4/2004. Current owner since April 2004.

Built by Ron Hodgson Racing based on the '75 BTCC 'Broadspeed' Group 1.

July 1978: purchased by Gerald Kay.

1980:BL sponsored Kay through JAGPARTS.

Car then upgraded to latest BTCC Group 1 specs for 1980 Bathurst 1000. Included were homologation of twin 48 DCOE Webers & big bore exhaust/CR O/D gearbox/LED ignition/flares for fatter tires/AP calipers (4-pot)/vented discs/spherical(rose) joints/additional location arms with optional Panhard rod & heavier front coils. Aluminium 100L (Bathurst) tank also fitted.

Over the period from August 1977, following its first race at Amaroo Park where Ralph Radburn finished 12th outright and 2nd in class, the original logbook signifies this car was a regular competitor at Sandown, Calder, Winton, AIR, Symons Plains, and Oran Park as late as 2001.

Major events included the Hang Ten 500, Bathurst 1000, and Semperit Series. In 1992 the car was used in category 2 racing from 1992 until at least 2000 and in 2004 an Historic Group C Log Book was issued together with Certificate of Description.

Engine retains cross-drilled crank/Cosworth pistons/double baffled sump/ground main caps/girdle plate/Freudenberger balancer. Fresh engine and gearbox. Some spares. Includes double sided A Frame display board and bonnet stand. Regular Class winner. And usually top-ten finisher in past ten years. Original CAMS Log Book will be provided together with Historic Log Book and CoD.

Current owner has receipts for loads of work to show the car is race ready condition. Has been raced recently in the Adelaide Festival of Speed.

Note:

Car 71 in Ron Hodgson photo is the Kay car, distinguishable from its unique steel roll-cage passing through rear parcel shelf. Car 70 (D. Seldon) has an aluminium cage behind drivers seat.

Vehicles offered for sale through AMCS are the responsibility of the Owner / Seller. AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.

When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.

The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. The Buyer understands there is no warranty or guarantee offered by either the Seller or AMCS.

If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.

If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.

AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
