1977 LX SS Torana A9X Hatchback

The most enduring memory for many Aussie Muscle car enthusiasts is Brocky pounding around Mount Panorama in 1979, in the Marlboro HDT A9X Torana Hatchback, six laps in the lead, hanging the rear end out through McPhillamy whilst waving to the cheering crowd as he set a new lap record on the last lap to win the Bathurst 1000 great race.

And ALL A9X Toranas have this same blood line pulsing through their veins. A little bit of Bathurst, Brocky and good old Aussie determination all wrapped up in one bloody sexy Hatchback motor car.

Only 405 A9X Toranas were made for the road, 305 4 door sedans, and 100 Hatchbacks, to homologate the new rear floor pan and 4 wheel disc brakes for Bathurst. Making the A9X Hatchback amongst the rarest Aussie muscle cars ever made. Of the 100 Hatchbacks produced, best guestimates today believe that only 50 to 60 still survive.

For sale is this one of only four A9X Hatchbacks built in Atlantis Blue and one of two with the contrasting Tan vinyl trim combo. And you'd be hard pressed to find a better, more original and more complete example than this car. This all matching numbers A9X Hatchback was sold through Lance Motors in St Marys, NSW and was actually the dealer principal Ray Lance's personal drive car from day one. It has travelled a documented 47,672 klms from new and presents in stock standard A9X specifications and is still riding on its day one genuine A9X rims.

Build No. 92/100 is all matching numbers 308 V8, M21 4 speed manual and 3.08:1 diff all in perfect condition and presents a rare opportunity to join an elite group of A9X custodians.

The car comes with original owners manual, log books, A9X build sheet, all dash board paper hangers from the factory, Mark IV air conditioning documentation, Holden Historical Services and GMH letters of verification, magazine feature articles, trophies and A9X letter of authenticity. It even has it's original plastic front spoiler and brake air ducts.

Fitted from new with Mark IV Air Conditioning the car includes an extra thermo fan to assist the stock A9X spec thermo fan. The car comes with a genuine original Goodyear Grand Rally G800 spare tyre on a genuine matching date coded rim, original jack set, and a rare GM Accessory Hatch Hutch for those weekend camping trips, as you do in a Bathurst homologation special. Also included is a set of period Cheviot Hotwire style alloy rims in 14 x 8 and 14 x 10 inch sizes.

Vehicles offered for sale through AMCS are the responsibility of the Owner / Seller. AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.

When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.

The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. The Buyer understands there is no warranty or guarantee offered by either the Seller or AMCS.

If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.

If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.

AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
