1975 Ford Falcon XB GT - Polar White
The big story for Ford's XB GT was four wheel disc brakes and headlight flashers. However, there were according to Ford engineers, some 2,056 changes made to the XB to improve the quality and reliability of the cars. Of course many of these were minor but they all added up to what many GT enthusiasts consider to be the best behaved GT Falcon. For sale from our Sydney Showroom is a quality restored example of the XB GT Falcon.
Presented in striking Polar White with Tutone Blackout Bonnet, this 1975 XB GT features the matching numbers 351 2V Cleveland, a 4 speed Top Loader gearbox and the factory 9" LSD. The car has been bare metal repainted in 2 Pack Polar White and presents very well on an extremely clean rust and damage free body shell.
Here is an unique opportunity to purchase a One of One build XB GT at a very attractive price. According to the ACCHS report, this GT is one of 1930 XB GT Falcons built, one of 917 manual cars, one of 226 Polar White examples, one of only 10 with the paint and trim combo and the only one built with the specific options selected. The Ford Verification letter notes that the GT was originally sold through Grawill Motors, Gosford and was optioned with the TuTone Bonnet, Superfringe Radio, Tinted Side and Rear Glass and Heated Backlight. The GT was purchased by the current mechanic owner in 2018 from a Shannons Auction and has been meticulously maintained and thoroughly enjoyed.
Mechanically, the car runs strongly and sounds amazing. In maintained condition, the GT is running a Quickfuel 650DP carby but otherwise is totally stock standard. The GT still runs the cast iron exhaust manifold, factory fan shroud, FOMOCO radiator, air cleaner and rocker covers. During the restoration, factory Power Steering was fitted to the GT making driving a breeze.
The interior was originally Parchment and has been changed to B2 Black with Cloth Inserts at some stage of its life. The original dash, gauges, steering wheel and even the optional Superfringe radio are all present and accounted for.
Open the boot and there is a new rubber boot matt, period spare and factory tools. The GT is riding on genuine 12 slots with GT skull caps and 195/70R14 Supercats on the front and Hankook Dynamic 235/60R14 on the rear.
The GT comes with a letter of Verification from Ford, an ACCHS Report, 2 sets of original keys plus the Shannons Auction pre-inspection report.
The XB GT Falcon was the last of the original GTs and to many is considered the best road going Grand Tourer. Gone were the wild stripes and Super Roo badging and in their place was a well rounded more sophisticated Ford road car.
Come and take a closer look at this super tidy XB GT in our Sydney Showroom. (Ref: 6322)
