1975 Dodge Chrysler Valiant VK Utility ... (SOLD)

For sale is an unrestored 1975 VK Dodge utility in CORAL BLUE running the matching numbers 265 Hemi 6 cylinder engine and 3 speed Torqueflite auto. Available for your inspection from Penrith, NSW.

The Ute version of the Australian Chrysler Valiant was sold as a Dodge from the VH (1971) to the VK series. One of 14,865 produced, the Ute was powered by a 203 hp 265 cubic inch OHV straight-6 referred to as the "HEMI 265" due to its hemispherical combustion chambers and canted valves. These motors were based on a US-Dodge truck motor developed for high power output and low weight.

Gears are swapped via the trusty three-speed A904 TorqueFlite automatic transmission and long runs are made possible by Chryslers fitment of the oversized 20 gallon (90 Litre) fuel tank and the 2.73:1 standard gearing of the diff. Chrysler also fitted a heavy duty torsion bar to the front suspension and improved braking capability via the fitment of vacuum power assisted front disk brakes.

The current owner bought the Ute from Geelong in Victoria 15 years ago. At the time it was being used as a work ute. It still features the original factory paint although the car does have its fair share of bumps and bruises. There is some rust in the drip rails and passenger side door but otherwise the Ute is pretty clean and solid. The Ute is showing 275,418 Klms on the clock.

The current owner has added the black out bonnet with 265 Hemi stickers, improved performance with a Holley 350 carby and a set of extractors, retrimmed the interior with period correct Black vinyl trim, fitted a modern CD stereo and working Air Conditioning and added the US Dragway wheels including the spare with good BF Goodrich tyres.

The Ute has full NSW registration until October, 2023.
