Not often do we see an elite survivor Aussie Muscle Car of this quality. For sale is an unrestored 1974 XB GT Falcon Hardtop. In stunning Copper Bronze paint with all original white trim, this magnificent example features the all matching 351 Cleveland V8, 4 speed Top Loader gearbox, disc brake 9" rear end and just 68,156 miles on the odometer.
Originally purchased by a Policeman from Wollongong, the car was ordered through Wright Ford but delivered by Byrt Ford, Wollongong. A two owner car, the first owner retained the car until 1989 selling it to the current GT enthusiast owner with 61,000 miles on the clock. The car has been used sparingly with only 7,000 odd miles added in the past 30 years.
The GT has, however made two pilgrimages to the Falcon GT Nationals at Bathurst in 2003 and then again in 2013. The car won Best Display and Best Unrestored XB Coupe and the car has also appeared on the cover and as the featured car in Issue 1 of Survivor Car magazine and also as the feature car in Australian Muscle Car Magazine Issue 26.
The car presents in showroom condition, the glass is also all original and in excellent condition. The white interior is in perfect condition with only a slight discoloration of the driver's side armrest, near perfect factory white trim, original carpets, hood lining and lovely patina on the GT steering wheel. The GT is still fitted with the factory optioned working AM Superfringe radio.
The engine bay is day one perfect presenting a rare opportunity to reference how an XB GT left the factory in 1974. You will notice that the hoses, clamps and under bonnet stickers are all day one.
The car is riding on the original day one Olympic Reflex ER70H14 red wall tyres perfect for the show scene and another set of Olympic Steel Flex red wall tyres for normal driving. There is also a genuine original Olympic Reflex spare tyre, original boot matt and jack/tools and bag.
