1974 Chrysler Valiant VJ Regal Hardtop - True Blue Metallic
A total of 90,865 VJ Valiants were built, more than any other Australian Valiant series. Production consisted of 49,198 sedans, 15,241 wagons, 10,509 Chargers, 14,856 utilities and only 1,067 hardtops. Chrysler offered the VJ with 3 versions of the Hemi 6 engine plus the 318 cid Fireball V8. Transmissions offered were the 3-speed manual, 4-speed manual and 3-speed automatic.
One of only 1,067 VJ Hardtops built, this stunning True Blue Metallic VJ Regal Hardtop was dealer optioned with the 318 cu 4BBL engine, 3 Speed Torqueflite 904 Console Shift automatic, Reclining Cloth and Vinyl Bucket Seats, Air-conditioning, Power Steering and a Vinyl Roof. Fully restored in 2012, the Regal Hardtop absolutely shines. The VJ was treated to a full respray in 2 pack True Blue Metallic. At the time, the decision was made to delete the optional Parchment vinyl roof. All chrome was restored and there is a folder full of receipts for NOS parts used in the restoration. All the glass is original except for the front windscreen.
Mechanically the original 318 V8 Fireball engine was fully rebuilt in 2012. The rebuild features Keith Black hypereutectic cast pistons, Hastings Black rings, 9.5:1 Compression, Clevite bearings, ARP rod bolts, new cam bearings, Rollmaster double row timing chain, Felpro gaskets, an Edelbrock intake manifold and a 9636 Competition Carter carby. The VJ is fitted with Pacemaker extractors, through to a twin 21/4" exhaust with balance pipe. The rebuild also included a new water pump, reconditioned alternator, power steering pump and starter motor. A new Sanden A/C compressor was fitted as was a new 3 core radiator and heater hoses. The brakes, transmission and 2.92 open centre diff were also reconditioned.
The interior has been restored to factory specifications with NOS trim, carpets, hood lining and is in excellent condition. A tachometer has been installed to replace the standard Regal clock in the dash cluster. The factory air-conditioning is installed and the owner has fitted an aftermarket Kenwood stereo to the car.
Currently on Club registration. This is a great street cruiser and a super rare Valiant for the MOPAR enthusiast.

Vehicles offered for sale through AMCS are the responsibility of the Owner / Seller. AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.
When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.
The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. The Buyer understands there is no warranty or guarantee offered by either the Seller or AMCS.
If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.
If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.
AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
