1973 XA GT Falcon
Survivor XA GT Falcon in Polar White and W2 White trim with black cloth inserts. Heavily factory optioned with wind-back sunroof, power steering, air conditioning, radio/tape player, bonnet black out, black vinyl roof, quarter vents, dual mirrors and T-Bar FMX auto. Does it get any better? We think NOT! This 1973 XA GT ticks all the boxes. Literally. Every option was factory fitted to this special one off dream machine. In good original condition for its age, this XA GT presents as a rust and damage free maintained class survivor, which is certainly the most desirable way to buy a GT thus guaranteeing it's provenance.
In the care of the current owner since 1992, the car has sat for some time and will need some freshening up mechanically. However, it drives and runs well, all the gauges work, the power steering, carburetor and fuel system have been recently reconditioned and the car was last repainted in 2007 with a retrim to the seats while maintaining the original door cards, dash, steering wheel etc. Running the matching numbers 351 Cleveland engine and T-Bar FMX automatic gearbox, the car made it out the factory doors with a 780 Holley carby and choke a la RPO.
The engine underwent a full rebuild, pistons, rings, bearings, cam, valves etc. It's running roller rockers, hardened push rods and guide plates. This gear has only about 25,000 miles on it. The air conditioning is still on R12 and is freezing cold and the car sits on the original GT 12 slot rims that the owner had powder coated in the 1990s to match the body colour. When purchased in 1992, the GT was showing 30,300 miles on the odometer. It is now showing just 54,445 miles.
Delivered new through Cooper Ford, Frankston, VIC, this special XA GT is one of only 104 with this particular paint finish, one of 12 with paint and trim combo and 1 of 1 with paint, trim and optional extras combination. The XA GT comes with owners manual, radio instruction booklet, ACCHS and FORD letter of verification and 28 years of happy motoring memories.
This is a rare opportunity to secure a fully optioned GT. Currently on Special Interest registration. Ready to enjoy and turn heads, the car can be inspected on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.. And if you are unable to travel due to Covid restrictions, AMCS will gladly arrange a video inspection/road test of the car using WhatsApp, and of course there is no issue with door to door freight delivery anywhere in Australia or New Zealand.
